NRO Ref: . Will dated l0th March 1647. Probate not stated. In the name of God Amen, Anno Domini 1647 the tenth day of March in the three and twentieth year of King Charles. I Thomas MOBES of Milthorpe in the parish of Weedon Pinckney in the county of Northampton, shoomaker, whole of mind and of perfect remembrance make this my last will and testament revoking and disannulling all former wills and promises whatsoever in manner and form following. First I bequeath my soul unto almighty god who gave it me and my body to be buried in the ancient burying place at Weedon aforesaid near unto the grave of Bartholomew MOBES my father formerly deceased. Also I make my wife Jane MOBES my whole executrix. Also I give unto my said wife Jane MOBES my house I now dwell in with my orchard and close forever. Also I give unto Martthia MOBES my mother ten pounds at two several payments, five pounds within two months after my decease, And the other five pounds three months after the first payment. Also I give unto my child, if I have any, either son or daughter,twenty pounds presently to be put into the hands of Edmund WILSON of Duncott in the parish of Greens Norton in the county of Northampton, yeoman and John MOBES of Weston in the parish of Weedon aforesaid, labourer whom I appoint to have the oversight of this money and to put it to the best improvement they both can devise in the behalf of my said child until it come to sixteen years of age, then to return both the money with the interest also into the hands of my said child. And in case I have no child or my said child shall die before it come to sixteen years of age Then I do give Ten pounds of this money unto Martthia MOBES my mother, within three months after the ? of child bearing if I have none, or within two months after the death of my said child if it shall die before it comes to sixteen years of age. And in case my child shall outlive Martthia MOBES my mother yet she shall have power to give this ten pounds to whom she will if my said child shall die before the time above said, And for the other ten pounds I do give unto my three brothers and two sisters, every one an equal share, That is to say fourty shillings a piece to be paid to every one proportionately at the times before mentioned according unto Martthia MOBBES my mother and for every one to have the like power with their own shares of money as I give unto her. Also I give unto William MOBES my brother my best hat and old cloak and one flaxon shirt. I give unto John MOBES my brother, my best cloak and best shirt and my biggest lockrom shirt. I give unto Bartholomew MOBES my brother, my best coat and next best shirt, my buckskin shirt, my white hat and flaxon shirt and two of my best bands. I give unto Alice MOBES my sister five shillings 8 pence. I give unto Margaret MOBES my sister my bible and five shillings. This to be given to each of my brothers and sisters within one week after my decease And I appoint overseers of this my will the above said Edmund WILSON and John MOBES and to have for their pains twelve pence a piece.
