Richard WARKWORTH of Weston Will dated 28th January 1542 In the name of God Amen, the year of our Lord God 1542, 28th day of January. I Richard WARKWORTH of Weston in the parish of Weedon Pinckney of whole mind make my last will in form ensuing. First, I bequeath my soul to god, our lady saint mary and my body to be buried in the church yard [of] Weedon Pinckney in the pathway on the west side of the church door. Also I give to Peterborough church 2d. Also I give to Thomas WARKWORTHE the younger my forge with all the tools there to belonging that I have now when he comes to the age of 21 years and if it shall happen the said Thomas WARKWORTHE shall depart before he shall be of the said age then the said forge with all the tools there to belonging shall remain to the next of the men. Also I give to Thomas WARKWORTHE my son a oxe bullock of 3 years of age. Also I give to Catherine my daughter a oxe bullock of 3 years of age. And I give to Margaret my daughter a land of barley on bayrlege. [this is possibly Berledge furlong] Also If it please god to do his will by me I will that William HALL shall occupy half my holding with my wife both in town and in the field. The rest of my goods not bequeathed shall remain to my wife Grace WARKWORTHE whom I make my whole Executrix. And I make my overseer of my will James LOW my son in law.
