NRO Ref:E 33. Will dated 24th June 1530. Probate not stated. In the name of God Amen. I John WARD of the parish of loys Weedon of whole mind and perfect remembrance make my last will in form ensuing. First I bequeath my soul to god, to our lady Saint Mary and to all the company in heaven and my body to be buried within the church yard of loys Weedon beforesaid. Item, I bequeath to Edward WARD my son a bullock, 6 sheep, a old cart, a colt, a yoke, a pair — laying. Item, I give to Richard WARD my son 10 sheep, the said Edward a quarter of barley ? ? ? Item, Also to the parish of loys Weedon to be paid ? ? 4 pence. Item I will that every person of the parish of loys Weedon both young and old shall have at the day of my burial 1 penny a piece to pray for me. Also I make my executors Richard WARD and Edward WARD my sons to see that this my last will be truly performed to the health of my soul. The rest of my goods not bequeathed, my debts paid, my burial done I will that the residue of my goods not bequeathed shall remain to Richard WARD my son aforesaid, the 24th day of June Anno Domini 1530.
