NRO Ref: T33. Will dated 24th April 1571 Probate 22nd May 1571 In the name of God Amen, the 24th day of April Anno Domini 1571. I John KENNINGE of Weston in the parish of Weedon Pinckney sick in my body but of perfect mind and memory, almighty god be praised, therefore I do make my Last will and testament in manner and form following. Imprimis, I give and bequeath my soul unto almighty god and unto his son Jesus Christ and my body to be buried in the churchyard of Weedon Pinckney. Item, I give unto Agnes my wife all the household stuff that she brought with her when we were married. Item, I give unto my wife also my greatest pan. Item, I give unto Katherine my daughter my malt querne with all thereunto belonging. Item, I give unto Margaret my daughter my greatest pallet. Item, I give unto Katherine my daughter my greatest spit and robbards and to my daughter Margaret my second spit and robbards. Also I will that my wife shall have them as long as she keepeth herself a widow. Item, I give unto Katherine my daughter my second best pan and to Margaret my daughter my third best pan. Item, I give unto my daughter Katherine two pewter platters that were her mothers. Item, I give unto my daughter Margaret two pewter platters that were her mothers. Item, I give unto my daughter Katherine one pair of sheets. Item, I give unto my daughter Margaret one pair of sheets also, I give unto Katherine my daughter my second best pot. Item, I give unto Agnes my wife the cow that she brought with her when we were married whose name is Tydi and the breeder that came of her. Item, I give unto William BAREFOOTE of Eydon, my sisters son, all my mason tooles. Item, I give to the aforenamed William BAREFOOTE my best cote. Item, I give unto John BAREFOOTE his brother my next best cote. Item, I give unto the son John BAREFOOTE my bally tmi otherwise called a barley mill. Item, I give unto my daughter Katherine my worst coffer. Item, I give unto my daughter Margaret my best coffer. Item, I give unto Thomas KINNINGE the son of James KINNINGE one fine sheet. Item, I give unto Elizabeth the sister of the aforenamed Thomas KINNINGE a chilner lambe and that to be delivered unto her when it is a hoggsell. Item, I give unto Thomas PEARSON of Plumpton a dublett which is covers the body and leather the sleves. Item, I will that if it do please almighty god to call unto his mind the soul either of my daughter Katherine or of my daughter Margaret before they come unto the state of matrimony, I mean before they be married, then their goods to be equally dealt unto the daughters of my sister BAREFOOTE and unto the daughters of James KINNINGE my brother and one daughter of my brother Richard KINNINGE. Item, I give unto my daughter Katherine my best pillow beyre and to my daughter Margaret my two worst pillow beyres. Item, I give unto William BAREFOOTE my sisters son, my theching rake that is now at Eydon, And also I give unto John BAREFOOTE my sisters son the other theching rake that is now at Weston. All the rest of my goods not given nor bequeathed my debts and legacies being paid, I give unto Agnes my wife and unto my daughter Katherine and unto my daughter Margaret whom I do make Executrixes the aforesaid rest of my goods to be equally dealt among them, all three at the discretion of my overseers. These I do make my overseers, Sir Edmunde WYLSON vicar of the same town and Jerome HENTON and John BAREFOOTE. These being witnesses, Henry ADKINS, Richard RYTON and Thomas PEARSON with others.
