NRO Ref: Y 197. Will dated 21st December 1593 Probate 21st February 1593. In the name of God Amen. I John BULL of Weedon Pinckney in the county of Northampton being greved in body by the gracious visitation of almighty god But of good and perfect memory, thanks be unto god for it, do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following. First I give and bequeath my soul unto god my maker and my body to be buried in the earth from whence it was taken. Item, my will is Alles my wife shall have that part or moitie of my living during her life which I have reserved unto my overseers for her maintenance after my decease, and after she die cause to return to my son Henry for and during the time unto him limited and appointed. Item, I give to Thomas BULL my brother, six strikes of maslin or else so much money as it shall be worth when it shall be sold. Item, I give unto the church of Weedon towards the mending of the pavement underfoot 6 shillings 8 pence. Item, I give unto the said church to the end that my body may be buried in the middle space at the coming into the church, 3 shillings 4 pence. The residue of all my goods, movable and unmovable I give unto Henry BULL my son whom I make my sole executor of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have caused this my present will to be set down in writing and do commit the timing of the same unto Mr MORISSON until such time as the same shall be truly performed, and do according to my intent and meaning in the presence of Anthony MORRISON minister and John ASTIL the 21st day of December Anno Domini second computanone 1593 and in the 36th year of the reign of our Sovereign Lady Elizabeth by the grace of god of England, France and Ireland, Queen defender of the faith.
