John ADKINS, Weston and Weedon Pinkney, 1647. NRO Ref: 3rd Senes 1603-1652 B 8. Will dated 23rd July 1647 Proved 4th August 1649. In the name of God, I John ADKINS Senior of Weston and Weedon Pinkney in the County of Northampton being of perfect memory do make this my last will and testament in manor and form following first I surrender my poor soul into the hands of my creator and heavenly father being in my heart he persuaded that he accepteth me in Jesus Christ and freeth and aquiteth me from the guilt and punishment of all my sin original and actual by the virtue of the precious blood which I believe my blessed Jesus Christ hath shed for me. Item! I bequeath the half-yard land which I bought to be equally divided between my two sons William and John. Item! I will that my eldest son William may have his quarter land when he comes to one and twenty years of age and also I will that my son William shall pay to my daughter Elizabeth ten pounds when my said son William come to age, also I bequeath to my daughter Katharine ten pounds to be paid her by my said son William within a month after he comes to age and also my daughter Anne must have of my son William ten pounds when he comes to age in default of the payment of this 30 pounds my daughters are to enter upon the said quarter land for their portion within three months after my son William come to age. Item! I will that my son John shall have the house and close being in Hobbes Hoole and also I will that my son John shall pay ten pounds to my daughter Sara within three months after my said son comes to age. Item! I will my said son William pay to his mother yearly as long as she lives a mark that is 6s and 8d at each Lady Day and 6s and 8d at Michaelmas or else she to enter upon the said quarter yard land. Item! I will that son John shall pay to his mother yearly as long as she lives ten shillings (Viz), 5s at each lady day and 5s at Michaelmas or else she to enter upon the quarter yard land. Item! I make my dearest wife Katharine ADKINS my sole and full executrix of all my movable goods, cattle and chattel whatsoever and I will that my dearest wife should pay my debts and after that she should pay to my daughter Amie £5 When she comes to age. Item! I will that if any of my said daughters die before they come to age or before any of them marry that their portion shall be equally divided between Katharine and Anne and if Katharine die her portion shall remain to Amie or if Amie her portion shall remain to Katharine. Item! I will that my wife shall have all my state in land till my sons come to age. Item! I will that the table and frame in the hall and the mault mill and the garner shall remain standard in the house. Item!
