NRO Ref: K 170. Will dated 10th November 1549. Probate 3rd December 1549. In the name of God Amen, the year of our Lord God 1549 the 10th day of November. I Edmunde BULL of Weston, husbandman in the parish of Weedon Pinckney of whole mind and perfect remembrance make my last will in form ensuing. First I bequeath my soul to god almighty, to our Lady Saint Mary and to all the holy company of heaven and my body to be buried in the church yard of Weedon aforesaid before the church porch doors. Also I bequeath to Peterborough our mother church 2 pence. Also I bequeath to the poor mans box 4 pence. Also I bequeath to the repair of the parish church of Weedon aforesaid for the most need of the same 3 shillings 4 pence. Also I bequeath to the bells of Weedon aforesaid a strike of malt. Also I bequeath to Thomas BULL my son, to Isabell BULL my daughter, to Jone BULL the elder and to Jone BULL the younger my daughters, every one of them 5 pounds in money or money worth at the day of their marriage, and if it shall chance any of the said children to depart the world before they be married then the said Legacies shall [be] equally divided among them that live. Also I bequeath to John BULL my son my best coat and my best dublet. Also I bequeath unto William HUCNILL my son in law, my next best coat and my next best doublet. Also I bequeath to John BULL’s 2 children, to Alice ALEBON’s 2 children, to William HUCNILL’s 2 children, every one of them a ewe sheep of the middle sort. Also I bequeath to Thomas BULL my son, to Isabell BULL my daughter and to the 2 Jone BULL my daughters, every one of them a sheep of which sort they will have and the eldest to begin to choose beside the said bequest. Also I bequeath to Thomas BULL my son the ambling mare colt. Also I bequeath to Margery ALEBONE my daughter and to Hanoria HUCNELL my daughter, either of them a hogsell of the middle sort. I bequeath to every godchild that I have within the parish of Weedon aforesaid and without, 4 pence. Also I bequeath to Elizabeth BULL my wife the leys [lease] of the house that I dwell in now during the years expressed in the same and if she depart the world before the years be expired then the rest of the years I bequeath to John BULL my son. Also I bequeath to Marston church 12 pence. Also I order and make and constitute my executors, Elizabeth BULL my wife and John BULL my son to see this my last will performed and John BULL to have for his pains taking 6 shillings 8 pence, and I make overseer of my will Robert WILLS of Weston and he shall have for his pains taking 3 shillings 4 pence. The rest of my goods not bequeathed, my debts paid and my burial done I give to Elizabeth BULL my wife. Witness, Sir Thomas FOX vicar of Weedon, John ACKYNGS aforesaid and William ALYBONE. Also I give to John BULL my son all the lasts standing on the Ground and Lan[d] to this house after the decease of his mother. Probate 3rd December 1549.
