PRO Ref: Prob/1 1/225 Will dated 3rd March 1645 Probate 26th May 1653 In the name of God Amen I George FAWSON of Weston in the parish of Weedon Pinckney in the County of Northampton yeoman being sick and weak of body, yet of good and perfect memory sense and understanding thanks be given unto Almighty God for the same do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form as followeth. Imprimis, I commit my soul into the hands of Almighty God trusting that by the death and suffering of my saviour Jesus Christ I shall have my resurrection among the just And my body to be buried in decent manner as it shall seem fit by my Executor And for my temporal goods I give and bequeath in manner and form as followeth. Imprimis, I give and bequeath unto my son George FAWSON the sum often pounds of lawful English money, to be paid by my Executor when my son George shall accomplish the age of fifteen years if the same be lawfully demanded. Item, I give and bequeath unto my son William FAWSON the sum often pounds of like lawful English money to be paid unto my son William when he shall accomplish the age of fourteen years by my Executor if the same be lawfully demanded. Item, I give unto my youngest son Stephen FAWSON the sum often pounds of like lawful English money when my son Stephen shall accomplish the age of fourteen years to be paid by my Executor if the same be lawfully demanded, further my will is that my Executor shall pay or cause to be paid unto my son George FAWSON the sum of forty pounds of currant lawful English money to be paid by my Executor when my said son George shall accomplish the age of one and twenty years if the same be lawfully demanded, further my will is that my Executor shall pay or cause to be paid unto my son William FAWSON the sum of forty pounds of currant lawful English money when my son William shall accomplish the age of one and twenty years if the same be lawfully demanded, further my will is that my Executor shall pay or cause to be paid unto my youngest son Stephen FAWSON the sum of forty pounds of like lawful English money when the said Stephen FAWSON shall accomplish the age of one and twenty years if the same be lawfully demanded; And my will is that if either or any of these my three sons die before they accomplish the age of one and twenty years then my true meaning is that the survivor of my sons before named shall have the forty pounds Legacy divided equally between the other that shall be then living: And further this is my will, that if my Executor shall refuse to pay these Legacies accordingly as is formerly expressed, Then my three yard lands with all profit and commodities thereunto belonging, lying in the parish, fields, and permits of Weston and Weedon shall be divided into three parts equally by my overseers of my Will and some other neighbours of their appointment, and one of these three yard lands, with all profits and Commodities shall be and remain unto my three sons George, William and Stephen for and during the term of four score and nineteen years, if the said Legacies of forty pounds a peece be not paid accordingly as is formerly expressed, and the yard land to be equally divided amongst George, William and Stephen, or which of these shall be then living. But if my Executor pay these Legacies then the yard land is to remain to the Executor. Item, I appoint and ordain my eldest son Thomas FAWSON for my sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament, and sole Executor of all my goods, Cattle and Chattles whatsoever paying my debts and discharging my funeral expenses, entrusting my well beloved brethren Thomas HACOCKE and George TAYLOR overseers of this my last Will and Testament. In witness hereunto I have set my hand and seal, Dated March the third Anno Domini 1645./--The Mark of George FAWSON. Sealed and Delivered in the presence of Henry WTMBUSH, the mark of Edward SHORTLAND. Memoranda, it is agreed before the sealing hereof, that if George, William and Stephen have the yard land for four score and nineteen years, they are to pay a peppercorn rent yearly if it be demanded to Thomas FAWSON or his assigns: This Will was proved at Westminster before the judges for probate of Wills and granting Administration the six and twentieth day of May 1653, by the oath of Thomas FAWSON the son and Executor named in the said Will, To whom Administration of all and singular the Goods Chattles and debts of the said deceased was committed, he being first sworn truly to Administer the same.
