In the Name of God Amen I Lucy Sheppard of Blisworth in the County of Northampton Widow and Relict of John Sheppard late of the same Gentleman deceased being in an ill state of Health but of a sound disposing Mind and Memory (thanks be given unto Almighty God for the same)do make and ordain this to be my last Will and Testament in manner as follows (that is to say) First of all I will and order my just Debts and funeral Expences to be discharged Also I give and bequeath unto my Grandson Samuel Sheppard my Gold Watch and Chain and all my Books I intend the first opportunity I have to deliver the Gold Watch and Chain unto my said Grandson which I have here given him Also I give and bequeath unto my Son Samuel Sheppard my Silver Milk Pott, my Silver Tea Tongs and six Silver Tea Spoons which of right belong to him as his Share of the Silver Plate intended for him by an Agreement made between him and his Brother and ffather by a Deed or Writing duly Sealed and Executed by them And my Will and desire is that my Granddaughter Mary, daughter of my Son William Sheppard deceased, shall have all the rest of my Silver Plate now in my Custody, that is, a Silver Tankard, Silver Mug, Silver two handled Cup two Gilt Silver Spoons four other Silver Spoons and a large soop Spoon, a Silver Tea Pot three Silver Castors and a Silver Salver I hereby declare that the Plate hereby Will'd to my Grand daughter Mary is the full part and share which was appointed for my said Son William deceas'd by the aforesaid Deed or Writing Also I give and bequeath unto my House keeper Mary Dudley all and all manner of my Cloathing and Apparel whatsoever of what kind soever the same shall be at my Decease Also the Sum of ten Pounds to be paid by my Executor Lastly all the rest residue and remainder of my Estate real and personal substance and Effects whatsoever Except such moneys in the Stocks as was fix'd and Settled on my said Son William after my Death by the aforesaid Deed or Writing or any other Deed or Writing duly executed, which my Will is shall go as the Deed or Writing shall direct, I give and bequeath unto my said Son Samuel Sheppard his Executirs Administrators and Assigns And I do hereby nominate and appoint my said Son Samuel Sheppard sole Executor of this my Will Declaring the same to be my last Will and Testament My desire is that my Body may be decently buried within the parish Church of Blakesley in the said County of Northampton In Witness whereof I have set my hand and seal this eighth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and fifty eight The markes of Lucy Sheppard Richard Cadman The mark of Susanna Malsberry William Adkins Proved 21 August 1758 PCC
