This is the last Will and Testament of Charlotte Sheppard of Stoke Bruerne in the County of Northampton Spinster I bequeath all the household goods and furniture plate linen china and other effects jewels trinkets and ornaments of the person of which I shall be possessed at my decease unto my nephew Richard Edward Shepperd of Stoke Bruerne aforesaid Gentleman for his own absolute use I bequeath my wearing apparel to my niece Maria Parish a daughter of my late sister Louisa Parish for her own absolute use I bequeath to the several persons next and hereafter named the several legacies of sterling which shall follow their respective names viz To my said niece Maria Parish the sum of three hundred pounds To each of my nephews Joseph Parish Richard Parish and Henry Parish (sons of my late sister Louisa Parish) the sum of fifty pounds To my niece Elizabeth the wife of James Woodward the sum of ffifty pounds To Diana Parish the widow of my late nephew Wood Parish deceased the sum of fifty pounds To Anne Parish the widow of my late nephew Thomas Parish deceased the sum of fifty pounds To my great nephew Richard Edward Sheppard the younger(son of my said nephew Richard Edward Sheppard) the sum of one hundred pounds And to my great niece Margaret Sheppard (the youngest daugher of my said nephew Richard Edward Sheppard) the sum of one hundred pounds I direct the said pecuniary legacies to be paid at the end of twelve Calendar months after my decease And I direct that the legacy duty payable on the two several legacies of fifty pounds each hereinbefore bequeathed to the said Diana Parish and Ann Parish shall be paid out of my Residuary Personal Estate I bequeath the Residue of the Personal Estate to which I shall be entitled at my decease unto my said nephew Richard Edward Shappard his Executors administrators and assigns Upon trust to convert collect and get the same and receive the money to arise therefrom with full authority to compound debts submit differences to arbitration give receipts execute releases and do and..... in all acts and arrangements for realizing my estate or settling my affairs according to his or their discretion And I direct that my said nephew Richard Edward Sheppard his executors administrators and assigns shall stand possessed of and interested inthe monies to arise from my said residuary personal Estate In Trust for my great niece Charlotte Sheppard the eldest daughter of him my said Nephew Richard Edward Sheppardher executors administrators and assigns absolutley And I declare that it shall be lawful for my said nephew Richard Edward Sheppard & his executors administrators and assigns to apply such part as he or they shall deem expedient of the annual produce and income arising from my said Residuary Personal Estate hereinbefore bequeathed to or in trust for my great niece the said Charlotte Sheppard in or towards her maintenance and education or otherwise for her benefit during her minority and I direct my said nephew Richard Edward Sheppard his executors administrators and assigns to accumulate during the minority of my said great niece Charlotte Sheppard the unapplied income by investing the same with power to vary the investment as aforesaid and to add the accumulations thereof to the capital of the said residuary personal property so bequeathed and I empower my said nephew Richard Edward Sheppard his executors administrators and assigns during the minority of my said great niece Charlotte Sheppard in his or their discretion to apply any part or parts of the capital of my said residuary estate or of the accumulations thereof not exceeding the whole one full fourth part in or towards the advancement or preferment in the world of my said great niece Charlotte Sheppard I declare that my said nephew Richard Edward Sheppard his executors administrators and assigns shall have a discretionary power to postpone for such period as to him or them shall seem expedient the conversion or getting in of any part of my residuary personal estate which shall at my decease consist of stocks funds or securities of any description whatsoever out the outstanding personal estate shall be subject to the trusts hereinbefore contained concerning the money and funds and securities aforesaid and the yearly process thereof shall be deemed annual income for the purposes of such trusts or devise all real estates which shall at my decease be vested in use as trustee or mortgagee to my said nephew Richard Edward Sheppard sole Executor of this my Will Lastly I revoke all otther Wills In the Year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and forty nine Charlotte Sheppard (Witnesses illegible) Proved 9TH January 1852 PCC PROB11/2146
