In the Name of God Amen.....day of ffebruary A: Dom 1686 and in the second yeare of the raigne of our soveraigne Lord Jmaes the second by the grace of God of England Scotl ffrance and Ireland King defender of the faith I James Neale of Tiffeild in the county of Northton being infirme and weake in Body and taking into consideration the certainty of my dissolution and the uncertaintie of the time Doe in a well disposed estate both of mind and memory make this my last Will & Testament in manner following Imprimis whereas Thomas Plowman of Caldecote and Edward Grendon of Whittlebury in the county of Northton yeomen in and by one obligation stand bound to me in the penall sum of six hundred pounds with condicion for the paimt of three hundred pounds unto me my executors adms or assignes at or upon the thirtieth day of March next ensuring the date of the said merited obligacon which money is principally designed by me for the paymt of such debts as shall be owing by me to any person or persons at the time of my Decease now my will is and I doe hereby appoint That if the said merited obligacon shall not be discharged during my Life That then so much of the said sum of Three Hundred pounds as remains unpaid at the tiem of my Decease shall be paid into the hands of my loveing friendes Thomas Waple of Eastcote William Pampion of the same and my Brother in law John Randolph to satisfie such of my debts as remaines unpaid at the time of my Decease And the overplus thereof (if any shalbe)to be imployed for the use of my eldest son to put him out apprentice, And the residue thereof shall pay to my said son when he shall accomplish the age of twenty and one yeares if he shalbe then living But if he shall happen to dye before that age Then the same with the increase thereof to be equally divided amongst my younger children and the better to enable my wife to bring up maintaine and educate my younger children some of which are very small I doe hereby give and bequeath unto my loving wife All my household goods and all other my goods chattles and personall estate of what nature kind or qualitie soever the same be except the said sum of three hundred pounds in the said merited obligacon specified And I doe hereby constitute and make her the said Anne sole executrix of this my last Will & testamt desiring her to take care that I may be decently interred And I doe hereby revoke all former wills by me made In witness that this is my last will & Testamt of me the said James Neale I have hereunto set my hand & seale James Neale Witnesses Mary Fookes Wm Smyth Thomas Sutton (X) Proved 24 February 1686 Northants Record Office Ref: MW58 3rd Series O f43
