This is the last Will and Testament of me John 
Prowting of Chawton in the County of 
Southampton Gentleman whereby I commend my 
Soul to God and dispose of my Worldy Estate as 
follows ffirst I ratify corroborate and confirm the 
Settlement made by me on my present Wife Mary 
previous to my Marriage with her And I give and 
bequeath unto my said Wife the sum of Ten Pounds 
to buy her Mourning And Subject to my said 
Marriage Settlement and to the aforesaid Legacy I 
give all my Estates Real and Personal of what nature 
kind or quality soever unto my Son William 
Prowting his Heirs Exors Administrators and Assigns 
for ever And I hereby Appoint him sole Executor of 
this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all 
former Wills by me heretofore made In Witness 
whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal the 
third day of July in the Year of our Lord one 
thousand seven hundred and eighty seven Jno
