This is the last Will and Testament of me Elias Benfield of the Parish of 
Portsea in the County of Southampton a Superannuated Mason from 
Her Majesty Dock Yard made whilst in an ill state of Health but of sound 
and disposing mind memory and understanding whereby I give devise 
bequeath and dispose of all my worldly Estate and Effects both real and 
personal in manner following that is to say I give and devise all my real 
Estate whatsoever & wheresoever situated that I may be possessed of 
interested in or in any wiseentitled to at the time of my decease unto my 
dear Wife Ann To hold the same to her my said deat Wife Ann her heirs & 
assigns for ever  I give and bequeath all my household Goods and 
Furniture of Household Plate Linen China Books Pictures monies and 
securities for money and all other my Personal Estate whatsoever and 
wheresoever unto my said dear Wife Ann to and for her own sole and 
separate use and benefit absolutely and for ever  And I hereby nominate 
constitute and appoint my said dear Wife Ann sole Executrix of this my 
Will and do revoke and make void all all former and other Will or Wills by 
me at any time heretofore made and do declare this only to be and 
contain my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I the said Elias 
Benfield the Testator have hereunto set my hand and Seal this seventh 
day of March in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and

as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his 
presence and and in the presence of each other have hereunto

Proved at London 3rd Aug.t 1838 before the Judge by the Oath of Ann 
Benfield widow the Relict the sole Executrix to whom Admon was granted 
having been first sworn (by Comon) duly to Administer.
