In the Name of God Amen I John Cloud of the Parish of 
Portsea in the County of Southampton being of good health 
and of sound memory and considering the uncertainty of life do 
make this my last Will and Testament (that is to say) First I 
resign my Soul into the hands of God my Saviour and my Body 
to the Grave And as to all my Worldly Effects I give and 
bequeath them as follows I give unto my beloved Wife Ann 
Cloud all my Personal Property namely the Principal and 
Interest of all Money in the Public Funds all my Wearing 
Apparel and Household Goods Plate Linen and China that I am 
possessed of together with full Power and authority to dispose 
of after my decease as she shall think fit for her own 
advantage And I do hereby appoint my beloved Wife and Mr 
Thomas Whitbread Bookseller to be my joint Executrix and 
Executor of this my last Will and Testament revoking all former 
Wills made and attested by me and as for my Debts I leave the 
discharge of them to my Wife Ann Cloud and the expences of 
my Funeral also to be defrayed by her Witness my hand and 
Seal this Tenth day of May in the Year of our Lord One 
thousand Seven hundred and ninety nine John Cloud Signed
