In the Name of God Amen I William Stiff now residing in Lake 
Lane Landport in the Parish of Portsea in the County of 
Southampton Miller being in sound mind memory and 
understanding do constitute and appoint this my last Will and 
Testament revoking all others ffirst I give my Soul to Almighty God 
who gave it me in hopes of a happy resurrection I give and 
bequeath unto my dear Wife Charlotte Stiff all and singular what 
I am or may be possessed of at the time of my death whether 
Personal Property Household ffurniture Plate or Wearing Apparel 
money or security for money or whatsoever I may be possessed so 
that she may be possessed of the same abd itt is  further my wish 
that my said dear Wife be my sole Executrix to this my last Will and 
Testament so that she may be in possession of all my Worldly 
Property In Witness whereof I hear set my hand and seal this 24 
day of March in the Year of our Lord Christ 1838   Wm Stiff his mark
