LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF ELIZABETH ANDREWS
9 June 1729

In the name of God Amen I Elizabeth Andrews of West Meon in the County of 
Southampton Widow, being of good and sound mind and memory praised be God 
therefore and being sensible of the uncertainty of this transitory life, do, make, ordain 
and declare this my Will to be my last Will and Testament in manner and for me, 
following. That is to say, First I commend my soul into the hands of Almighty God 
hoping through his merits of my only saviour Jesus Christ to receive everlasting 
beliefs and my body I commit to the earth there to be buried in a Christian like 
manner by my Executors and Trustees and as to all Worldly Estate which it hath 
pleased Almighty God to bless me in this world. I give and dispose of as followeth. 
In primus it is my will that all my just debts to be well and truly paid and my funeral 
charges also be discharged by any Executor hereinafter named and appointed.
I then give and bequeath unto my son John Andrews the sum of Ten Pounds. I then 
give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth the wife of John Cowper the sum of 
thirty five pounds.  I then give and bequeath unto my daughter Ann the wife of Henry 
Friend the sum of Thirty Five Pounds. I then give and bequeath unto my daughter 
Joan the wife of Thomas Skinner the sum of Thirty Five Pounds. I then give and 
bequeath unto my son Thomas Andrews the sum of Five Pounds and it is my will that 
all those names above named unto them at the end of twelve months next after my 
death. Then I give and bequeath unto my grandson Robert Andrews the sum of Forty 
Pounds to be paid unto him when he shall attain unto the age of One and Twenty 
Years, the money to remain in the hands of my Executors and he is to make what life 
of it as he can, for the breeding up of my said Grandson but in case the boy should die 
before his coming of age aforesaid then the said Forty Pounds shall be equally divided 
amongst my sons and daughters as shall be then living at the time of his death. Then I 
also give unto my said grandson Robert Andrews my Largest Coffer and to my son 
Thomas my Smallest Coffer and unto my daughter Elizabeth, one of my Largest 
Rings and the Silver Cups and unto my daughter Ann the other of my Largest Rings 
and likewise all my wearing apparel and all my linen to be equally divided between 
my three daughters share & share alike. Lastly all the rest of my Goods and Chattels, I 
give unto my son Richard Andrews whom I make Executor of this my last Will and 
Testament and defining my brother Robert Earwaker to aide and assign him as a 
Trustee herein to whom I give Ten Shillings and to allow all residuary expenses in the 
Execution of the trust hereby defined of him and I do hereby declare this to be my last 
Will and Testament and hereby revoking all wills by me formally made. Given under 
my hand and seal this Ninth day of June in the year of our lord 1729.
