THE LAST WILL & TESTAMENT OF JOHN ANDREWS.
29 January 1708

In the name of God Amen. This Nine and Twentieth day of January in the year of 
our Lord God One Thousand Seven Hundred and Eight.  I John Andrews of West 
Meon in the County of Southampton, Butcher being somewhat indisposed in body 
But of perfect mind and memory, (thanks be to God).  Do make and ordain this my 
Will to be my last Will and Testament in manner of form following.
First and chiefly I recommend my Soul into the hand of Almighty God my Maker 
hoping thro the meritorious death and passion of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to 
receive full and free Pardon of all my Sins and with him to Inherit Eternal Life.  My 
Body I commit to the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executors.  
My Worldly Goods and Temporal Estate I dispose of as followith. 
In Primis I give unto my Daughter Elizabeth the sum of One Hundred Pounds to be 
paid within One Year after my Decease. 
Item I give unto my Daughter Ann the Sum of One Hundred Pounds to be paid at her 
age of One and Twenty Years, and my will is that my Executors pay and allow unto 
her four pounds yearly for the interest thereof towards her maintenance by half yearly 
portions till she shall attain to that age (the year to begin and commence from the time 
of my decease).
Item I give unto my Daughter Joan the sum of One Shilling besides the money due to 
me on a Mortgage made from Richard Earwaker and his wife of certain lands lying in 
Privett with the interest thereof which I have forwarded unto the said Joan by 
surrender of the said lands.
Item I give unto my Sons Thomas, Richard and Robert One Shilling apiece only, 
having made provisions for securing of portions to them by surrendering of certain 
Copyhold Lands to their use.
Item all the rest of my Goods and Chattels whatsoever, my Debts being first paid and 
funeral discharged.  I do give and bequeath unto Elizabeth my Loving Wife and to my 
Eldest Son John Andrews and do make and appoint them full and whole Executors of 
this my said Will, Revoking all former Wills by me made.  In Witness whereof I have 
hereunto set my hand on this the day and year first above written.
