In the Name of God Amen
I  John Pither of Yateley in the County of Southton Yeoman, being weak in Body but of 
sound and perfect  Mind and Memory blessed by God do this nineteenth Day of March in the 
year of our Lord 1743/4 make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form 
followeth Vist principally and first of all I commend my Soul into the hands of God that gave 
it and my Body to the Earth to be buried in a Christian Like and Decent manner at the 
discretion of my Executrix herinafter named and as for Such Worldly Estate wherewith it has 
pleased God to Bless me with all I Give and bequeath unto my Brother Richard Pither and 
my Brother James Pither and my Sister Jane Handkerson, my Sister Elizabeth Collyer 
the full and Just Sum of Twenty pounds a piece to be paid within one year after my Decease 
by my Executrix hereinafter named  [Item] I Give and bequeath to my kinswoman Mary 
Williamshurst and my kinswomen  Jane Morter and my kinswoman Handkerson ~ each 
and everyone of them the full and Just of Ten pounds to be paid within one year after the 
Decease of Ann my Wife [item] I Give and bequeath unto my Brother Richard's four 
daughters' the full and just sum of Five pounds a piece to be paid them within one year after 
the Decease my of Ann Pither my Wife  [item] I Give and bequeath unto Ann Pither my 
Wife, the wife of  my kinsman John Pither and her four Children to Sum of Forty 
Shillings a piece to be likewise paid them within one year after the Decease of Ann Pither 
my Wife  [item] I Give and bequeath unto my loving Wife Ann Pither the full and just sum 
of One hundred pound to be at her own disposall and all the Rest of my Goods and Chattels 
whatsoever I give and bequeath unto my loving Wife Ann Pither for and during the Term of 
her naturall life provided the makes no wast or Embosalmment of the same and from and 
after the decease of my said Wife I Give the above said left and residue unto my  Brother 
James Pither and my kinsman Joseph Pither son of my Brother Richard Pither to be 
equally divided between them provided they pay out of the same the Legacies as above 
mentioned within one year after the Decease of  my Wife And I do hereby make nominate 
Constitute and appoint my loving Wife Ann Pither my only and Sole Executrix of this my 
last Will and Testament revoking and disannulling all other Wills or bequeaths heretobefore 
made by me and do Ratify and confirm this and only this to be my last Will and Testament In 
Witness whereof  I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal the day and year above written  The 
marke of John Pither signed sealed and published pronounced and declared by the said 
John Pither to be his last Will and Testament in the presence of us  James Clarke  ~ John 
Clarke ~ Thomas hammond ~

Probatum This Will was proved at London on the eleventh Day of  
May in the year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Forty Four before the 
Worshipful William Straham Doctor of Laws and surrogate of the Right Worshipfull John 
Betsworth also Master Keeper of Company of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully 
constituted by the oath of Ann Pither widow the relative and Sole Executrix named in the said 
Will to whom Administration was Granted of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits 
of the said deceased she having been first sworn by commission duly to administer the same
