This is the last Will and testament of me John Earle of Binsted in the County of 
Southampton Cordwainer. I Give devise and bequeath to my sons Charles Earle , 
James Philip Earle and George John Earle the sum of five pounds each to be paid 
as hereinafter specified. I Give devise and bequeath all my household furniture 
ready money securities for money, money secured by Life Assurance goods and 
chattels and all other parts of my real and personal estate and effects (excepting 
only the legacies before named to my three sons which I direct to be paid out of the 
sum due at my death from a Life Assurance Company) unto my dear wife Mary 
Ann Earle to and for her own use and benefit absolutely subject only to the 
payment of my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses and the aforesaid 
Executrix legacies. And I appoint my said wife Executrix of this my will. In 
witness whereof I the said John Earle have to this my last will and testament set 
my hand this seventh day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight 
hundred and seventy eight. John Earle. 

Signed by the said John Earle the testator and acknowledged by him to be his last 
Will and Testament in the presence of us present at the same time and subscribed 
by us in the presence of the testator and of each other Ellen Brittle of Binsted   H. 
Harbor of Binsted Assistant Overseer

Proved at Winchester the eighth day of September by the Oath of Mary Ann Earle 
Widow the Relict the sole Executrix to whom Administration was granted.

The testator John Earle was formerly of Binsted and late of Anstey Alton both in 
the County of Southampton Shoemaker and died on the sixth day of August 1882 
at Anstey aforesaid.
