In The name of God. Amen. I John Earl of Headley Otherwise Heathley in the County of 
Southampton Yeoman being of Sound Mind and memory Blessed be almighty God for 
the Same do make this my last Will and Testament In Manner and Form Following and 
as  I have Surrendered into the Hands of the Lord of the Manor of Bishop Sutton all my 
Several (Free - deleted) Copyhold Estates being in Headley otherwise Heathley 
aforesaid and County above written and first I commend my Daughter Ann into the Care 
of my Son John Earl whom I appoint Sole Executor to be maintained out of my Several 
Copyhold Estate by him or his Heires During his natural Life and in Case my Said Son 
John Earl Dies without Issue then my Will is that all my Several Copyhold Estates shall 
return back and be equally Divided among my Daughters as shall be then Living Except 
my Daughter Ann Earl by which shall be ................nd out of the Several Copyhold 
Estate and my Will is that None of the Said Copyhold Estates shall be Sold During the 
Life of my Said Daughter Ann and all my Stock and Household Goods I give to my 
Loving Wife Ann to be full and Wholely at her Disposing and Also to have her Widows 
Estate in all the said Copyhold Estate I also Give and bequeath unto my Daughter Ruth 
Howick and unto my Daughter Sarah Earl and  my Daughter Mary Earl and my 
Daughter Hannah Earl the Sum of Thirty Pounds a piece of Lawful Money of Great 
Britain to be paid unto them by my Executor within one year Next after the decease of 
my Loving Wife Anne and all my Just Debts and Funerall Expenses (and just debts - 
crossed out) my Will is shall be paid as soon as possible after my Decease and then all 
the rest and Residue of my Lands and Effects Except what is above Given and 
Bequeathed I give and Devise and bequeath to my Said Son (Undecipherable word - 
crossed out) John Earl whom I nominate and Appoint Sole Executor to this my last Will 
and Testament and do declare this and only this to be my last Will and Testament in 
Witness Whereunto I have here to Set my Hand and Seal this the Twenty Seventh Day 
of July in the Year of the Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty.
