In the Name of God Amen. I John Earle of Bishop’s Sutton in the County of 
Southampton Labourer being of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding 
do make publish and declare these presents as and for my last Will and Testament (that 
is to say) I Give and Bequeath unto my Niece Elizabeth Earle the Daughter of my 
Brother George Earle deceased the sum of Five Pounds of Lawful Money of Great 
Britain to be paid to her by my Executor hereinafter named at the end of one calendar 
month next after my decease. Also I Give and bequeath unto Samuel White of Bishop’s 
Sutton aforesaid Labourer the sum of Five Pounds of like lawful money to be paid to him 
by my said Executor in manner following (that is to say) The sum of Twenty Shillings on 
the second day of August which shall happen next after my decease and the sum of 
Twenty Shillings on every succeeding second day of August until the whole sum of Five 
Pounds be fully paid. Also I Give and bequeath unto the said Samuel White all my 
clothes and wearing apparel of what kind soever to be delivered to him by my said 
Executor immediately after my decease. And all the Rest Residue and Remainder of my 
Goods Chattles Money Securities for Money and personal Estate whatsoever and 
wheresoever (after payment of my Debts Legacies and Funeral (The Mark + John Earle) 
I give and Bequeath unto Elizabeth Rivers daughter of Michael Rivers of Bishop’s Sutton 
aforesaid Yeoman to be absolutely at her own disposal. And I do hereby Constitute and 
Appoint the said Michael Rivers sole Executor of this my last Will and testament Hereby 
Revoking all former Wills by me made. In Witness whereof I the said testator John Earle 
have hereunto set my hand and Seal this Eighth day of March in the Year of Our Lord
