In the name of God Amen upon the eighteenth day of February in the year of our Lord 
Christ 1720. I Edmund Earl  of Week in the parish of Binsted in the County of Southton 
Yeoman being infirm in body, but of sound and disposing mind and memory (God be 
praised for it) do make and Ordain this my last will and testament in the manner and 
form following viz. first I commit my soul to Almighty God my Creator hoping through the 
merits and Intercession of Jesus Christ my Saviour to obtain free pardon of all my sins 
and be saved, my body I will to be decently buried as my Executrix and Executor 
hereinafter named shall think fit, and my worldly goods I give and dispose thereof as 
followeth Imprimis I give and bequeath to my two sons Edmund and John all that my 
house and Malthouse and all my land and hopground Tenements and hereditaments 
with all and singular their Appurtenances situate and being in Alton in the county of 
Southton to be equally divided  between them, To have and to hold the said house and 
Malthouse land hopground Tenements and hereditaments with all and singular the 
appurtenances unto my said two sons Edmund and John and their Heirs and Assigns 
forever. Item I give and bequeath unto my son Thomas all my money in the hands of 
Charles Heath and Robert Baldwin both of Holybourn in the county of Southton being 
the sum of 190 pounds principall and the Interest due at Lady Day next, and all writings 
for the security thereof, he my said son Thomas paying unto my Daughter Mary the sum 
of one hundred and twenty pounds of lawful money of Great Britain out of the aforesaid 
money within six months next after my decease, which I hereby will and bequeath to her 
Item I give and bequeath unto my said son Thomas all that my messuage or Tenement 
with a purrock or close of land adjoining thereunto with all and singular the 
appurtenances situate lying and being in Oakhanger (Alias) Tunford in the parish of 
Selbourn in the county of Southton To have and to hold the said messuage or 
Tenement and Close of land with all and singular the appurtenances unto my said son 
Thomas and his Heirs and Assigns for ever. Item I give and bequeath unto my Daughter 
Mary my Chest of Drawers standing in the little parlour chamber, Item I give and 
bequeath to my Daughter Anne the wife of John Baker one shilling of lawful money Item 
to my Grandson John Baker 5 shill of lawful money, Item to my grandson Francis Baker 
5 shill of lawful money Item to my grand daughter Anne Baker 5 shill of lawful money, 
Item to my Grandson William Baker 5 shill of lawful money, to be paid to them and 
every one of them by my Executrix and Executor herein after named within six months 
after my decease.  Item all the rest and residue of my goods and chattels moneys and 
utensils whatsoever, which is not herein disposed of, I give and bequeath unto my 
loving wife Anne Earl and to my loving son William whom I make and ordain Executrix 
and Executor of this my last will revoking all other wills by me made.  Item I give and 
bequeath unto my loving wife Anne all my best bed in the Kitchen chamber, with all 
bedding thereunto belonging Item I give and bequeath unto my son Edmund my bed in 
the little parlour chamber with all bedding thereunto belonging, In Witness whereof I 
have hereunto set my hand and seal, the day and year above written.
