Julia Ross - Miss Woking 1975

1

Miss Julia Ross, aged 17, was the fifth Carnival Queen for Woking's sixth Whirl, in July 1975 (there not being a Miss Woking competition in 1974).  Her two attendants were Anita Glanville, and Penelope Lynn.  The ladies were dressed for the day by Susan Gay and were allowed to keep the dresses.

Julia beat 19 other finalists to win the title and prize of a continental (Paris, Bruges or Brussels) weekend break for two or equivalent (£50) towards longer holiday.

Although Julia was 17 when she entered the competition, she celebrated her 18th birthday on the day of the carnival.
