Miss Deborah Lock, a 20-years old
nanny,
from Horsell, was the Carnival Queen for Woking's eleventh Whirl, in July 1979. Her two attendants were Suzette Brown and
Corinda Coppola.
The ladies received dresses from Patricia Fraser of Knaphill to wear on
carnival day and a free hair-do from Robert Christopher. Hair: Blonde Eyes: Blue Height: Vitals: For winning the competition, beating 19 other finalists, Debbie received a weekend in Paris for two, donated by travel agent, Alec Bristow. Deborah had recently gained a 3-year diploma in hair-dressing from Kingston College, but was planning to start a nursing career at St Peter's Hospital, the following April. |
