Miss Ann Evans, a 22-years old actress and model,
from West End, was the Carnival Queen for Woking's
ninth Whirl, in July 1977. Her two attendants were Jennifer Harvey (who had also been runner-up the previous year) and
Susan Rymer (who a month earlier had been runner-up in the Miss Camberley competetion).
The ladies received dresses from Patricia Fraser of Knaphill to wear on carnival day and a free hair-do from Robert Christopher. Hair: Blonde Eyes: Blue Height: 5' 2" Vitals: 34-23-34 Ann beat twenty other finalists to lift the crown. For winning the competition, she received a weekend in Paris for two, donated by travel agent, Alec Bristow. The runners-up each received a £20 voucher for use at Robert Christopher. |
