Coral Duval-Lee - Miss Woking 1980

 Miss Coral Duval, a 20-years old freelance hairdresser, of French descent, was the Carnival Queen for Woking's eleventh Whirl, in July 1980.  Her two attendants were Mirielle Vermorgan and Anne Henderson. 

Coral beat twenty other finalists to claim the crown.  Her prizes for winning were a Paris holiday for two, modelling portfolio and a £25 Aerco voucher, in addition to the dress & hair-do for carnival day.

At the time of the competition, Coral was named as Coral Duval.  In the following week, she was reported as Coral Duval-Lee and thereafter as Coral Lee.  She celebrated her twenty-first birthday a week after winning the contest.

Having completed her hairdressing training the previous year, prior to the competition she had been travelling Europe with the UK national water-skiing team.
