NEWBRIDGE

Newbridge was the name given to the bridge over the Bourne stream, which runs through the north-western edge of the parish. The bridge is situated on the main road from Bisley to West End, Chobham. It was known as Newbridge from before 1740.

The name may refer to a new replacement bridge, but more likely to a bridge forming a new crossing point over the Bourne.
