Belfers was a house and tenement, situated, next to Cobbetts Farm, towards the western end of Church Lane, near Bisley Green. In the Tithe Award it was measured as 1 rood and 21 perches. It is believed to date from the 14th century.

Prior to his death in 1780, the copyhold of Belfers was held by George Martin for more than 50 years. On his death it passed to his son James, who was admitted as tenant in May 1783. When James died in 1808, the property passed to his wife, Sarah. However, in 1789 James had mortgaged the premises to secure a loan of £100; in 1842 this loan was in arrears and forfeit and James Try was admitted as tenant. James Try immediately sold the premises to John Loveland for £149.

John Loveland died in 1873 and Belfers passed to his wife Jane, she being admitted in June 1874. Jane also died, in 1876 and their daughter, Maria Jane Cox, and Henry Smith inherited through Jane's will; along with other properties, Belfers was sold to The Reverend William Tringham.

Later known as the "Old Cottage".
