aka NEWCOTTS

An arable field of approximately three and a half acres, situated on the south side of Bisley Green. In the Tithe Award it was measured as 3 acres 1 rood and 18 perches, on the OS map as 3.404 acres.

Prior to 1774, August Field or Newcotts was owned by George Rempnant. When George died in 1774, he left Newcotts to his son-in-law John Street. John Street died in 1787 and Newcotts passed to his son, Henry; Henry in turn died in 1803 and Newcotts passed to his son, James.

James Street died in 1853; in his will he left Newcotts to his daughter Jane. Jane later married William Daborn and in 1868, William and Jane sold Newcotts to Stephen Day for £150.

In 1899, Stephen Day (now described as a 'grocer of Godalming') sold Newcotts to Mary Ellen Emma Wing for £135.
