At a Special Court Baron of The Right Honorable William Hillier Earl of Onslow Lord of the said Manor held in and for the said Manor on Tuesday the seventh day of September in the forty fourth year of the Reign of Our Sovereign Lady Victoria by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland Queen Defender of the Faith and in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty Before Frederic Ferdinand Smallpeice Gentleman Steward there.

Will of Frederic Joseph Bowyer
At this Court came here into Court Mary Bowyer of Stoke Mill in the parish of Stoke next Guildford in the County of Surrey Widow and Joseph Hollis of number 1 Maida Hill in the County of Middlesex Gentleman by Humphrey Percy Smallpeice their Attorney and produced the Probate of the last Will and Testament of Frederic Joseph Bowyer whose death was presented at the last General Court Baron holden in and for this Manor which Will bears date the sixteenth day of February one thousand eight hundred and sixty seven  Whereby the said Testator  after bequeathing certain portions of his personal Estate gave and bequeathed all and every his real and the residue of his personal estate whereof or whereto he or any person or persons in trust for him was or were seized or entitled or which he had power to give or dispose of by that his Will (not thereinbefore disposed of) and all other his estate whatsoever and wheresoever in possession reversion remainder or expectancy with the appurtenances (save and except such as were vested in him on trust or by way of mortgage) unto his wife the said Mary Bowyer and the said Joseph Hollis and Richard Paget of Guildford aforesaid Auctioneer (since deceased) their executors administrators and assigns for ever according to the nature thereof Upon trust to stand possessed thereof for the intents and purposes therein mentioned

Admittance of Mary Bowyer and Joseph Hollis
Now at this Court upon the second proclamation came here into Court the said Mary Bowyer and Joseph Hollis by the said Humphrey Percy Smallpeice their Attorney and humbly prayed to be admitted tenants to All that one messuage or Tenement (now converted into two messuages or Tenements) and three closes of land containing by estimation two acres more or less formerly in the possession of Henry Hayward and which said messuages or Tenements were then in the respective occupations of ______ Hill and _______ Robinson and the three closes of land in the occupation of Messieurs Godfrey and Waterer which came into the hands of the Lord of this Manor on the death of the said Frederic Joseph Bowyer  To whom the Lord of the Manor aforesaid by his Steward aforesaid granted the same and delivered seizin thereof by the Rod  To hold to the said Mary Bowyer and Joseph Hollis their heirs and assigns for ever Upon the trusts of the Will of the said Frederic Joseph Bowyer deceased by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the custom of the said Manor by the yearly rent of sixpence Heriot when it shall happen suit of Court and other services and customs therefore formerly due and of right accustomed And so they were by their said Attorney admitted tenants thereof in form aforesaid Gave to the Lord as a fine for such their admittance as appears afterwards and their fealty was respited.

Also at this Court upon the second proclamation came here again into Court the said Mary Bowyer and Joseph Hollis by the said Humphrey Percy Smallpeice their Attorney and humbly prayed to be admitted tenants to All that piece or parcel of land part of the waste of this manor situate at Knaphill Lane containing about thirty rods more or less and which said piece or parcel of land is bounded on the South by the Highway road leading to Bisley and adjoins to certain premises belonging to the said James Bedford which came into the hands of the Lord of this Manor on the death of the said Frederic Joseph Bowyer  To whom the Lord of the Manor aforesaid by his Steward aforesaid granted the same and delivered seizin thereof by the Rod  To hold to the said Mary Bowyer and Joseph Hollis their heirs and assigns for ever Upon the trusts of the Will of the said Frederic Joseph Bowyer deceased by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the custom of the said Manor by the yearly rent of two pence Heriot certain two shillings and sixpence on the death of every tenant dying seized thereof or any part thereof  Suit of Court and other services and customs therefore formerly due and of right accustomed And so they were by their said Attorney admitted tenants thereof in form aforesaid Gave to the Lord as a fine for such their admittance as appears afterwards and their fealty was respited.

Also at this Court upon the second proclamation came here again into Court the said Mary Bowyer and Joseph Hollis by the said Humphrey Percy Smallpeice their Attorney and humbly prayed to be admitted tenants to All that piece or parcel of land waste of this Manor containing fifty rods more or less situate at a place called Peters in the parish of Bisley and which said piece or parcel of land is bounded on the west by property late belonging to the said Frederic Joseph Bowyer on the South by the road leading from Knaphill to Bisley on the East by the road leading from Guildford to Bagshot and on the North by an old Inclosure late belonging to the said Frederic Joseph Bowyer which came into the hands of the Lord of this Manor on the death of the said Frederic Joseph Bowyer  To whom the Lord of the Manor aforesaid by his Steward aforesaid granted the same and delivered seizin thereof by the Rod  To hold to the said Mary Bowyer and Joseph Hollis their heirs and assigns for ever Upon the trusts of the Will of the said Frederic Joseph Bowyer deceased by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the custom of the said Manor by the yearly rent of two pence Heriot certain two shillings and sixpence on the death of every tenant dying seized thereof or any part thereof Suit of Court and other services and customs therefore formerly due and of right accustomed And so they were by their said Attorney admitted tenants thereof in form aforesaid Gave to the Lord as a Fine for such their three several admittances as appears in the margin [Fine for the whole. 1st Life £24  2nd Life £12 = £36] and their fealty was respited.
