At a General Court Baron of The Right Honorable George Earl of Onslow Lord of the said Manor there held for the said Manor on Friday the Twenty sixth day of September in the forty sixth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord King George the third One thousand eight hundred and six Before Joseph Pickstone Gentleman Steward there.

The Homage aforesaid being sworn and charged upon their Oaths do say and Present and it is attested by the Steward aforesaid that on the Twenty fifth day of January One thousand eight hundred and five William Steer and Sarah his wife heretofore the wife of Richard Daborn and she the said Sarah being one of the Copyhold or Customary Tenants of this Manor and being first separately examined apart from her said Husband by the said Steward and freely consenting did surrender into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the Rod and acceptance of the Steward aforesaid and according to the custom of the said Manor One Messuage Garden and Orchard and the Land thereto belonging with the appurtenances of her the said Sarah heretofore in the occupation of Joan Snelling since of James Martin late of Richard Daborn and now of Henry Knight  To the use and behoof of such person or persons and for such estate and estates therein as she the said Sarah (not withstanding her Coverture and whether Covert or sole) should in and by her last Will or Testament in Writing Give Devise Direct Limit or appoint the same.

The Homage also Presented a certain Surrender taken out of Court and since the last Court in the Words following that is to say “Manor of Bisley in the County of Surrey.  Be it Remembered that on the second Day of February in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and five John Edwards of Bisley in the County of Surrey Husbandman one of the Customary or Copyhold Tenants of the said Manor hath surrendered And by these Presents Doth surrender into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the Rod and acceptance of Joseph Pickstone Gentleman Steward of the Courts of the said Manor and according to the custom thereof All that Messuage or Tenement with the outhouses Gardens and appurtenances thereunto belonging situate within the said Manor heretofore in the possession of John Towers since of John Stiles late of Sarah Hill and now of James Wade And the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders unto issued and profits thereof And all the Estate right title interest inheritance equity of redemption property claim and demand whatsoever of him the said John Edwards of in and to the same premises  To the only proper use and behoof of James Steadman of the Parish of Horsell in the County of Surrey Nurseryman his heirs and assigns for ever Provided always and upon Condition Nevertheless That if the said John Edwards his heirs executors or administrators do and shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said James Steadman his executors administrators or assigns the full Sum of Ten Pounds of lawful money of the united Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland of English value and currency (over and besides the principal monies and interest already due on the same premises on a former Surrender) together with lawful interest for the same on the Second Day of August next ensuing the date hereof without any deduction or abatement to be made or taken out of the same on any account whatsoever and without fraud or further delay Then this Surrender is to be void or else to be and remain in full force and virtue – John X Edwards his Mark  This Surrender was taken the Day and year first above written by my acceptance.  Joseph Pickstone Stew.d
[Margin Note:  Be it Remembered that on the second Day of February in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and eleven William Woods and James Turner Executors named in the last Will and Testament of James Steadman in the Surrender named Did acknowledge that they had received of and from John Edwards in this Surrender also named All Principal and Interest Money secured by this Surrender And also all Principal and Interest Money secured by another Conditional Surrender of the same Premises made by the said John Edwards to the said James Steadman at a Special Court Baron holden for this Manor on the eleventh day of  November One thousand eight hundred and two And the said William Woods and James Turner by Writing under their Hands did authorise and empower the Steward of this Manor to enter satisfaction upon the Court Rolls or Books of this Manor accordingly – Witness my Hand  Joseph Hockley Jun.r Stew.d]

The Homage also Presented a certain other Surrender taken out of Court and since the last Court in the following words that is to say “Manor of Bisley.  Be it Remembered that on the Twentieth Day of November in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and five Thomas Sago one of the Copyhold or Customary Tenants of the said Manor came before Joseph Pickstone Gentleman and Steward of the Courts of the said Manor out of Court and surrendered And by these Presents Doth surrender into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the rod and by the acceptance of the said Steward according to the custom of the said Manor All that parcel of Copyhold Land called Wheat Leaz with the appurtenances containing by estimation ten acres more or less situate lying and being in the Parish of Bisley and within the Manor aforesaid And also All that One Messuage with the appurtenances at Gateshed End with the Barn Garden Orchard and about one acre and an half of Land to the same adjoining and belonging lying and being within the said Manor heretofore in the occupation of Thomas May  And also All that quarter of an acre of Land with the appurtenances in Bisley within the said Manor late Richard Freelands whereon a Cottage did lately stand To all which several Estates and premises the said Thomas Sago was admitted Tenant at a Court Baron holden for the said Manor on the First Day of April one thousand eight hundred and two on the Surrender of William Walden and William Woods And the Reversion and Reversions remainder and remainders thereof And all the Estate right title interest property claim and demand of him the said Thomas Sago of in and to the same premises  To the only proper and absolute use and behoof of William Smith of the Parish of Bisley in the County of Surrey Victualler his heirs and assigns for ever according to the custom of the said Manor and to or for no other use intent or purpose whatsoever Subject Nevertheless to the payment of the Principal Sum of Three hundred Pounds now due and owing on a Conditional Surrender or Mortgage made by the said Thomas Sago of the same premises to James Mersh and all interest now due and hereafter to grow due for the same – Thomas Sago.   This Surrender was taken the Day and year first above written by my acceptance.  Joseph Pickstone Stew.d

Now at this Court the first Proclamation was made for the said William Smith to come into Court and take out of the hands of the Lord of this Manor All that parcel of Copyhold Land called Wheat Leaz with the appurtenances containing by estimation ten acres more or less situate in the Parish of Bisley and within this Manor which came into the hands of the Lord of this Manor on the Surrender of  the said Thomas Sago But he came not And thereupon the first Proclamation and default are here inrolled.

The Homage also Present that James Nesmith one of the Copyhold or Customary Tenants of this Manor who held to him and his heirs of the Lord of this Manor by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the custom of the said Manor All those Copyhold Lands Arable Meadow and Pasture with the appurtenances containing by estimation Nineteen Acres more or less in the Parish of Bisley by the yearly Rent of __________ Heriot Suit of Court and other Services And also One parcel of Land called Loompitts containing by estimation six acres more or less in the said Parish and Manor of Bisley by the yearly Rent of Four pence Heriot Suit of Court and other Services died since the last Court so thereof seized whereupon two Heriots became due and two horses were seized for the use of the Lord of this Manor and compounded for at the Sum of Fifty three Pounds And that the said James Nasmith in and by his last Will and Testament in Writing bearing date the Tenth Day of November One thousand eight hundred and four (the Probate Copy whereof was now produced and used in this Court ) devised as follows (to wit) “I Give Devise and bequeath unto William Smyth and Mary his Wife of Bisley in the said County and to the Survivor of them during their natural Lives And then I Give and Devise the same to Mary their Daughter or if more Children by Mary the said Wife of William Smyth equal between them And in case they have no Children to their heirs and assigns for ever All that my Freehold House Lands and Premises called or known by the name of the Hen and Chickens in Bisley aforesaid And also All that my Copyhold Estate containing by estimation Twenty six Acres situate in Bisley aforesaid and now in the occupation of the said William Smyth And which I have surrendered to the use of my Will”
 
Now at this Court the first Proclamation was made for the said William Smyth and Mary his Wife or one of them to come into Court and take out of the hands of the Lord of this Manor All those the said Copyhold Lands Arable Meadow and Pasture with the appurtenances containing by estimation Nineteen Acres more or less which came into the hands of the Lord of this Manor on the Death of the said James Nasmith But no one came And thereupon the first Proclamation and default are here inrolled.
Also at this Court the first Proclamation was made for the said William Smyth and Mary his Wife or one of them to come into Court and take out of the hands of the Lord of this Manor the said One parcel of Land called Loompitts containing by estimation six Acres more or less which came into the hands of the Lord of this Manor on the Death of the said James Nasmith But no one came And thereupon the first Proclamation and default are here inrolled.

The Homage also Present that John Hill one of the Copyhold or Customary Tenants of this Manor who held to him and his heirs of the Lord of this Manor by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the custom of the said Manor (subject to several Principal Sums and Interest due to William Hall) All that Copyhold Messuage or Tenement called Radsills Grove with the Barn Buildings Orchards Gardens and all the Lands thereto belonging with the appurtenances containing by estimation five acres more or less in the Parish of Bisley late in the occupation of William Slaughter and since of John Hill died since the last Court so thereof seized whereupon One Heriot became due to wit the best live Beast of the said John Hill became due to the Lord of this Manor But that the said John Hill at the time of his Death had no live Stock And that in and by his last Will and Testament in Writing bearing date the Sixteenth Day of March One thousand eight hundred and five the Probate Copy whereof was now produced and read in open Court the said John Hill devised as follows Viz.t “I Give Devise and Bequeath to my Sons George and Henry Hill All that my Messuage or Tenement Garden Barn and other the appurtenances thereunto belonging to them my said Sons their heirs and assigns for ever on Condition they my said Sons do and shall pay unto their Mother the Sum of five shillings a week and every week for and during the term of her natural Life that is to say the Sum of Two shillings and sixpence each. And I do hereby will and order that my said Estate be divided between my two sons in the following manner. I give and devise to my son George Hill the South end of my said Messuage the Garden before it the Orchard behind it half the Barn, the West end half of the Yard - and four plotts of Ground. One against the house two below that and one against the Common Southward containing about two and half acres more or less ~  I also give and devise to my son Henry Hill the North end of my said Messuage a small piece of Ground before it, half the Barn, half the Yard, South end and Garden behind the Barn, two plots of Ground, the West side against the other, A Road to it from the Yard about two and half acres more or less also the Hogstye against the Common  All and every my said Estate is held of the Manor of Bisley and has been duly surrendered to the use of my will.”  Now at this court upon the first proclamation came into Court in his proper person the said George Hill and humbly prayed to be admitted tenant to the said several parts and parcels of all the said Copyhold Messuage or Tenement Buildings Orchards Gardens and Lands called Radseels Grove as are given and devised to him in and by the said Will of his Father the said John Hill To whom the Lord of the Manor aforesaid by his Steward aforesaid granted the same and delivered Seizin thereof  by the rod  To hold to the said George Hill his Heirs and Assigns for ever by Copy of Court roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the yearly rent of one penny as now apportioned at this Court Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other services and Customs therefore formerly due and of right accustomed And so he was admitted Tenant in form aforesaid Gave to the Lord for a Fine for such Admittance as appears in the Margin [£8] And his Fealty was respited.

At this court came here into Court in his proper person William Walker of Bisley one of the Copyhold or Customary Tenants of this Manor and surrendered into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the Rod and acceptance of the Steward aforesaid  and according to the Custom of this Manor All his Messuage Lands Tenements and Hereditaments held by him as part and parcel of this Manor  To the use and behoof of such Person or Persons and for such Estate and Interest therein As he shall in and by his last Will and Testament in Writing Give Devise limit Direct or appoint the same

At this court came here into Court in his proper person James Hone one of the Copyhold or Customary Tenants of this Manor and surrendered into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the rod and acceptance of the aforesaid Steward and according to the Custom of this Manor One Acre of Land part of a parcel of Land called Miles Grove within this Manor And which said Acre adjoined to Miles Green on the South To the Copyhold Land late of William Walker called Wheat Leaz on the West To other part of Miles Grove now William Walkers on the North And to on Acre other part of Miles Grove now of James Stedman on the East To the use and behoof of William Glazier of Wokeing in the County of Surrey Laborer his heirs and assigns for ever Which said William Glazier being now Present here in Court in his proper person humbly prayed to be admitted Tenant to the said one acre of Land  part of a parcel of Land called Miles Grove in pursuance of the said surrender To whom the Lord of the Manor aforesaid by his Steward aforesaid Granted the same and delivered Seizin thereof  by the Rod  To Hold to the said William Glazier his Heirs and Assigns for ever by Copy of Court roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the yearly Rent of one halfpenny Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other services and Customs therefore formerly due and of right accustomed And so he was admitted Tenant in form aforesaid Gave to the Lord for a Fine for such Admittance as appears in the Margin [£1 5s 6d] And his Fealty was respited.
