At a Special Court Baron of The Right Honorable Arthur George Earl of Onslow Lord of the said Manor there held in and for the said Manor on Saturday the twenty third day of October in the sixteenth year of the reign of our Sovereign Lady Victoria by the grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland Queen defender of the Faith and in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty two Before Joseph Hockley Gentleman Steward of the Courts of the said Manor.

Absolute Surrender William Cobbett to John Faggeter
At this Court came here into Court in his proper person John Faggetter of Pirbright in the County of Surrey Victualler and delivered to the said Steward the Memorandum of a certain Surrender taken out of Court on the second day of June last Whereby William Cobbett late of the parish of Bisley in the County of Surrey but now of Henley upon Thames in the County of Oxford Laborer one of the Copyhold or Customary Tenants of this Manor out of Court in Consideration of the Sum of fourteen pounds thirteen shillings and nine pence to him paid by the said John Faggetter Did Surrender into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the rod and by the acceptance of the above named Steward According to the Custom of the said Manor  All that piece or parcel of land late parcel of the waste of the said Manor lying near Staverk Lake Containing by estimation seventy rods lately enclosed together with the Cottage or Tenement thereupon erected and set up then or late in the occupation of Frank Taylor with the appurtenances To the use and behoof of the said John Faggetter his heirs and assigns for ever Subject nevertheless to a Certain Conditional Surrender made by the said William Cobbett to the use of Edmund Vincent of Guildford of Guildford [sic] in the County of Surrey Gentleman of the said hereditaments on the sixth day of November one thousand eight hundred and forty one for securing the repayment of the principal sum of Fifteen pounds and Interest and also subject to the payment of the principal money and Interest then due for the same amounting altogether to the sum of fifteen pounds six shillings and three pence and the interest from henceforth to grow due for the said principal money which said sums of fourteen pounds thirteen shillings and nine pence and fifteen pounds six shillings and three pence making together the sum of thirty pounds were thereby declared to be the full Consideration money for the purchase of the said hereditaments
Admittance of John Faggetter
And thereupon the said John Faggetter humbly prayed to be admitted Tenant to the said piece or parcel of land with the Cottage thereupon erected in pursuance of the said Surrender To whom the Lord of the Manor aforesaid by his Steward aforesaid granted the same and delivered seizin thereof by the rod To hold to the said John Faggetter his heirs and assigns for ever by copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the yearly rent of one penny heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other services and customs therefore formerly due and of right accustomed And so he was admitted Tenant thereof in form aforesaid Gave to the Lord as a fine for such his admittance as appears in the Margin [£2 5s] and his fealty was respited.
