Conditional Surrender Mr and Mrs Gosden to Mess.rs Lipscombe and Bull
Be it remembered that on the nineteenth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty Daniel Gosden of Chobham in the County of Surrey Farmer and Sarah his Wife late Sarah Eacott Spinster which said Sarah is one of the copyhold or Customary Tenants of the said Manor (in consideration of the sum of Two hundred pounds of lawful money of Great Britain to them in hand paid by John Lipscombe of Horsell in the County of Surrey Farmer and John Bull of Woodford in the County of Essex Gentleman at or immediately before the making of this Surrender as the said Daniel Gosden and Sarah his Wife do hereby acknowledge and declare) came before Joseph Hockley Gentleman Steward of the Courts of the said Manor out of Court and (the said Sarah being first separately examined apart from her said Husband by the said Steward and freely and voluntarily consenting thereto) Have and each of them Hath Surrendered and Do and each of them Doth Surrender into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the Rod and by the acceptance of the said Steward and according to the custom of the said Manor one parcel of Land containing by Estimation Two Acres abutting on the Parsonage Mead on the East and also one other parcel of Land containing by Estimation one quarter of an acre lying within this Manor and also all that parcel of land containing by estimation four acres more or less part of a certain parcel of Land late of Sarah Stimson containing five Acres or thereabouts heretofore inclosed out of the common field called Neltro with the appurtenances (to all which premises the said Sarah Gosden was admitted at a General Court Baron holden for the said Manor the sixteenth day of December one thousand eight hundred and forty two on the death of William Eacott) And also four several pieces of Land containing together by Estimation one acre more or less part of four acres of Land lying in the common field called Widecroft within the said Manor one of which said four pieces of Land abuts on the West part to Land late of William Smith and now of John Mersh on the East to the Land of the Devisees of Joseph Bell on the North to land late of James Loveland and on the South to land late of Mrs Geale and now of John Loveland one other of the said four pieces of Land abuts on Lands of the Devisees of Joseph Bell on the West and North and to the Land late of Mrs Geale and now of John Loveland on the East and South one other of the said pieces of Land abuts on Lands late of Mrs Geale and now of John Loveland on the West to inclosed Land late of James Loveland on the South to Land of the Devisees of Joseph Bell on the North and to Land late of Ann Waterer and now of Elizabeth Chandler on the West (to which said last mentioned premises the said Sarah Gosden then Sarah Eacott spinster was admitted at a General Court Baron holden for the said Manor the twenty fourth day of October one thousand eight hundred and thirty three on the Surrender of John Edwards) and the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders rents issues and profits thereof And all the Estate right title interest property claim and demand whatsoever of the said Daniel Gosden and Sarah his Wife and each of them of in and to the said premises and every or any part thereof  To the only proper use and Behoof of the said John Lipscombe and John Bull their heirs and assigns for ever according to the custom of the said Manor Provided always and upon this condition nevertheless that if the said Daniel Gosden and Sarah his Wife or either of them their heirs executors administrators or assigns do and shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said John Lipscombe and John Bull their executors administrators or assigns the full and just sum of Two hundred pounds together with interest for the same after the rate of five pounds for one hundred pounds for a year of lawful money of Great Britain upon the nineteenth day of April next ensuing the date hereof without any deduction or abatement to be made or taken out of the same on account whatsoever and without fraud or further delay then this Surrender to be void and of no effect otherwise to be and remain in full force and virtue  Daniel Gosden  Sarah Gosden ~ This Surrender was taken the day and year first above written by the acceptance of me Joseph Hockley Steward  In the presence of Edw.d Cha.s Quilley Clerk to Mr. Hockley.  Received on the day and year first above written of and from the above named John Lipscombe and John Bull the sum of Two hundred pounds being the consideration money above mentioned to be paid by them to us £200  Daniel Gosden  Sarah Gosden  Witness Edw.d Cha.s Quilley.
[Margin note:  Be it remembered that on the eleventh day of September One thousand eight hundred and seventy five William Bull of Southsea in the County of Hants Gentleman the administrator of the personal Estate and effects of John Bull in this Surrender named (who was the survivor of John Lipscombe and the said John Bull both in this Surrender named) did by writing under his hand acknowledge and declare that he had been paid and satisfied all principal and interest monies and all demands due on this Surrender and did empower authorize and desire the Steward of this Manor to enter this his acknowledgement of having received such satisfaction upon the Court Rolls or Books of the said Manor accordingly.
