A View of frank-Pledge with a General Court Baron of The Right Honorable Thomas Earl of Onslow Lord of the said Manor there held for the said Manor on Thursday the twenty sixth day of October in the first year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Fourth by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland King Defender of the Faith and in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and twenty Before Joseph Hockley Gentleman Steward there.

At this Court upon the third proclamation came into Court in his proper person Thomas Gosden and humbly prayed to be admitted Tenant to one acre of meadow land lying in the common mead called Westbourn Mead within this manor which came into the hands of the Lord of this Manor on the surrender of Jacob Gosden To whom the Lord of the Manor aforesaid by his Steward aforesaid granted the same and delivered seizin thereof  by the Rod  To hold to the said Thomas Gosden his heirs and assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the yearly apportioned rent of two pence Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other services and Customs therefore formerly due and of right accustomed And so he was admitted Tenant thereof in form aforesaid  Gave to the Lord for a Fine for such his admittance as appears in the margin [£1 10s] and his fealty was respited.

Also at this Court upon the third proclamation came here into Court in his proper person the said Thomas Gosden and humbly prayed to be admitted Tenant to four several pieces of Land containing together by estimation one acre more or less part of four acres of land lying in the Common field called Widecroft within this Manor one of which said four pieces of Land abuts on the West part to land of William Smith on the East to land of the Devisees of Joseph Bell on the north to land of James Loveland and on the South to land of Mrs Geale one other of the said pieces of land abuts on lands of the Devisees of Joseph Bell on the West and north and to the lands of Mrs Geale on the East and South  One other of the said pieces of land abuts on lands of Mrs Geale on the west east and south parts and on lands of the Devisees of Joseph Bell on the north and the other piece of land abuts on the lands of Mrs Geale on the west to inclosed land of James Loveland on the South and to land of the Devisees of Joseph Bell on the north and to land late of Ann Waterer on the West which came into the hands of the Lord of this Manor on the surrender of Edward Gosden To whom the Lord of the Manor aforesaid by his Steward aforesaid granted the same and delivered seizin thereof  by the Rod  To hold to the said Thomas Gosden his heirs and assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the yearly apportioned rent of two pence Heriot when it shall happen suit of Court and other services and customs therefore formerly due and of right accustomed And so he was admitted Tenant thereof in form aforesaid  Gave to the Lord for a Fine for such his admittance as appears in the margin [£1 2s 6d] and his fealty was respited.

Also at this Court upon the second proclamation came here into Court in his proper person John Robinson and humbly prayed to be admitted Tenant to All that Messuage or Tenement with the outhouses gardens and appurtenances thereunto belonging situate within this Manor heretofore in the possession of John Towers since of John Stiles late of Sarah Hill and now or late of John Edwards (subject to a certain Conditional Surrender made thereof by John Edwards to James Waterer for securing the repayment of the principal sum of Eighty pounds and interest) which came into the hands of the Lord of this Manor on the surrender of John Edwards To whom the Lord of the Manor aforesaid by his Steward aforesaid granted the same and delivered seizin thereof  by the Rod  To hold to the said John Robinson his heirs and assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the will of the Lord according to the custom of the said Manor by the yearly rent of four pence Heriot when it shall happen suit of Court and other services and customs therefore formerly due and of right accustomed And so he was admitted Tenant thereof in form aforesaid  Gave to the Lord for a Fine for such his admittance as appears in the margin [£7 10s] and his fealty was respited.

Also at this Court the second proclamation was made for John Dabourn or any other person or persons who hath or have a right to be admitted to All that piece or parcel of Garden Ground containing by admeasurement forty rods little more or less being the north west end of the Garden belonging to and parcel of  All that Customary Messuage or Tenement with the Edifices buildings garden orchards and Curtilage thereunto belonging situate in Bisley Green in the parish of Bisley abutting on the said Green on the South North and East parts late in the occupation of George Slyfield and since of _______ Floyd  which came into the hands of the Lord of this Manor on the surrender of Thomas Eacott to come into Court and take the same out of the hands of the Lord of this Manor but no one came whereupon the second proclamation and default are here inrolled.

Also at this Court upon the second proclamation came here into Court in his own proper person Thomas Turner and humbly prayed to be admitted Tenant to All that one acre of land lying (in two several pieces) in the Common field called Burcroft  within this Manor  which came into the hands of the Lord of this Manor on the surrender of Thomas Glazier To whom the Lord of the Manor aforesaid by his Steward aforesaid granted the same and delivered seizin thereof  by the Rod  To hold to the said Thomas Turner his heirs and assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the will of the Lord according to the custom of the said Manor by the yearly rent of _______ Heriot when it shall happen suit of Court and other services and customs therefore formerly due and of right accustomed And so he was admitted Tenant thereof in form aforesaid  Gave to the Lord for a Fine for such his admittance as appears in the margin [£1 10s 6d] and his fealty was respited.

Also at this Court the second proclamation was made for William Dabourn or any other person or persons who hath or have a right to be admitted to All that Messuage Barn Garden Orchard and one acre and an half of arable and meadow land with the appurtenances in the parish of Bisley which came into the hands of the Lord of this Manor on the death of Elizabeth Dabourn the late Wife of John Dabourn to come into Court and take the same out of the hands of the Lord of this Manor but no one came Whereupon the second proclamation and default are here inrolled.

Also at this Court the second proclamation was made for Thomas Barnes or any other person or persons who hath or have a right to be admitted to All that Copyhold messuage or Tenement called Edsaws and four Closes of land by estimation four acres and an half with the buildings garden orchards and appurtenances thereunto belonging which came into the hands of the Lord of this Manor on the death of Richard Barnes to come into Court and take the same out of the hands of the Lord of this Manor but no one came Whereupon the second proclamation and default are here inrolled.

The Homage aforesaid being sworn and charged on their Oath do say and present that
Isaac Foster the Father and Devisee in fee named in the will of Isaac Foster the younger whose death was presented at the last General Court Baron holden for this Manor seized of  All that Customary or Copyhold parcel of land with the appurtenances lying in four severals containing by estimation seven acres more or less lying in Bisley within this Manor Subject to a Mortgage thereof  for securing the principal sum of Two hundred and seventy pounds and Interest to James Waterer his Executors Administrators and assigns hath since the said last General Court departed this life without having been admitted Tenant to the said premises And that Elizabeth Chandler the Wife of William Chandler of Bisley aforesaid Farmer is the only Child and Heiress at Law according to the custom of this Manor of the said Isaac Foster the elder
Now at this Court upon the second proclamation came here into Court in her proper person the said Elizabeth Chandler and humbly prayed to be admitted Tenant to the said Customary or Copyhold parcel of land with the appurtenances lying in four severals containing by estimation seven acres more or less lying in Bisley within this Manor subject to the said Mortgage To whom the Lord of the Manor aforesaid by his Steward aforesaid granted the same and delivered seizin thereof  by the Rod  To hold to the said Elizabeth Chandler her heirs and assigns for ever (subject as aforesaid) by Copy of Court Roll at the will of the Lord according to the custom of the said Manor by the yearly rent of six pence Heriot when it shall happen suit of Court and other services and customs therefore formerly due and of right accustomed And so she was admitted Tenant thereof in form aforesaid  Gave to the Lord for a Fine for such her admittance as appears in the margin [£14 14s] and her fealty was pardoned.

The Homage also present a certain Surrender taken out of Court and since the last General Court in the words following to wit on the twenty seventh day of January one thousand eight hundred and twenty Whereby Elizabeth Bailey of Chobham in the County of Surrey Widow one of the Copyhold or Customary Tenants of the said Manor in consideration of  the sum of forty pounds to her paid by Morris Burchett of Chobham aforesaid Yeoman Did surrender into the hands of the Lord of the said manor by the Rod and by the acceptance of the Steward of the said Manor according to the custom thereof All that the scite of one Cottage and fourteen Rods of Land by estimation more or less and one parcel of Land called the Common Plot containing by estimation one quarter of an acre near Knapphill in Bisley And also all that the scite of one Messuage or Cottage and certain Customary land to the same belonging containing by estimation one acre or thereabouts with the appurtenances in Bisley To the only proper and absolute use and behoof of the said Morris Burchett his heirs and assigns for ever  Now at this Court upon the first proclamation came here into Court in his own proper person the said Morris Burchett and humbly prayed to be admitted Tenant to the said scite of one Cottage and fourteen Rods of Land by estimation more or less and one parcel of Land called the Common Plot in pursuance of the said Surrender To whom the Lord of the Manor aforesaid by his Steward aforesaid granted the same and delivered seizin thereof  by the Rod  To hold to the said Morris Burchett his heirs and assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the will of the Lord according to the custom of the said Manor by the yearly rent of one shilling  Heriot when it shall happen suit of Court and other services and customs therefore formerly due and of right accustomed And so he was admitted Tenant thereof in form aforesaid  Gave to the Lord for a Fine for such his admittance as appears in the margin [£1 4s] and his fealty was respited.
And again at this Court upon the first proclamation came here into Court in his own proper person the said Morris Burchett and humbly prayed to be admitted Tenant to the said scite of one Messuage or Cottage and certain Customary Land to the same belonging containing one acre or thereabouts in pursuance of the said Surrender To whom the Lord of the Manor aforesaid by his Steward aforesaid granted the same and delivered seizin thereof  by the Rod  To hold to the said Morris Burchett his heirs and assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the will of the Lord according to the custom of the said Manor by the yearly rent of two shillings Heriot when it shall happen suit of Court and other services and customs therefore formerly due and of right accustomed And so he was admitted Tenant thereof in form aforesaid  Gave to the Lord for a Fine for such his admittance as appears in the margin [£1 18s 6d] and his fealty was respited.
