A Special Court Baron of The Right Honourable George Lord Onslow and Cranley Lord of the said Manor held for the said Manor on Wednesday the fifth day of October in the Twenty fifth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the faith &c And in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and Eighty five Before Thomas Sibthorpe Gentleman Deputy of John Chandler Gentleman Chief Steward there

The Homage present that William Cobbett one of the copyhold or Customary Tenants of this Manor who held to him and his Heirs by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the custom of this Manor All that Tenement with the Appurtenances called Hallers One Wood called Newcroft one other Acre of Land called Widecroft Two Acres and an half more or less lying in Great Westwoods Two Acres of Land lying near Palmers Land in South Earsh and one Barn and One Close thereto adjoining between Hallers House and Hallers Grove with the Appurtenances in Bisley aforesaid  And also all that one Parcel of Land called Longlands containing by Estimation three Acres more or less in Bisley aforesaid And also all that one Parcel of Land called Hallers Grove containing by Estimation Three Acres more or less in Bisley aforesaid And also all that Parcel of Pasture containing by Estimation Two Acres in Bisley aforesaid abutting upon the Common Mead called Westburn Mead with the Appurtenances in Bisley aforesaid in and by his last Will and Testament bearing date the fifth day of September one thousand Seven hundred and Eighty three gave as follows Viz.t “ I give unto my Wife Ann My best Bed and Bedstead with its Furniture and my clock for her use during her natural life and after her decease to my Daughter Elizabeth And as to all the rest and residue of my Estate both Real and Personal Money Goods and Chattels whatsoever and wheresoever I give the same unto my Son William Cobbett Subject nevertheless as is hereinafter mentioned (that is to say) in the first place in Answering and Paying all my just Debts and funeral Expenses In the next place I give Six Pounds apiece unto Ann my said Wife and to my three Daughters Ann Elizabeth and Hannah to be paid within twelve Months after my decease out of the same  Also I give Thirty pounds unto my Son John Cobbett and do hereby subject my Real Estate for payment thereof and as to the said Thirty pounds I desire that after the rate of Four pounds per Cent may be paid for the same untill my said son John shall attain his Age of twenty one years but if necessity shall require for his Maintenance before that then the same may be lessened at the Discretion of my Executor and such part thereof as shall remain to be paid to him at his Age of Twenty one years And I do hereby Nominate and appoint my said Son William Cobbett Executor of this my Will hereby revoking all former Wills by me made and declare this only to be my last Will and Testament”  Whereupon at this court upon the third Proclamation came into court in his proper Person the said William Cobbett the Son and humbly prayed to be admitted to All that Tenement with the Appurtenances called Hallers One Wood called Newcroft one other Acre of Land called Widecroft Two Acres and an half more or less lying in Great Westwoods Two Acres of Land lying near Palmers Land in South Earsh and one Barn and One Close thereto adjoining between Hallers House and Hallers Grove with the Appurtenances in Bisley aforesaid in Pursuance of the said Will of the said William Cobbett his late Father  To Whom the lord of this Manor by the said Deputy Steward Granted the Same To Hold to him the said William Cobbett the Son his Heirs and assigns forever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor Subject to the Charges mentioned in the said Will of the said William Cobbett his late Father deceased by the Yearly Rent of Four Shillings Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of right accustomed And he gave to the Lord as a Fine for such his Admittance as appears afterwards He is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod and his Fealty is Respited.
Also at this court upon the third Proclamation came again into court the said William Cobbett the Son and humbly prayed to be admitted to All that one Parcel of Land called Longlands containing by Estimation three Acres more or less in Bisley aforesaid in Pursuance of the said Will of the said William Cobbett his late Father  To Whom the lord of this Manor by the said Deputy Steward Granted the Same To Hold to him the said William Cobbett the Son his Heirs and assigns forever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor Subject to the Charges mentioned in the said Will of the said William Cobbett his late Father deceased by the Yearly Rent of Ten Pence Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of right accustomed And he gave to the Lord as a Fine for such his Admittance as appears afterwards He is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod and his Fealty is Respited.

Also at this court upon the third Proclamation came again into court the said William Cobbett the Son and humbly prayed to be admitted to All that Parcel of Pasture containing by Estimation Two Acres in Bisley aforesaid abutting upon the Common Mead called Westburn Mead with the Appurtenances in Bisley aforesaid in Pursuance of the said Will of the said William Cobbett his late Father  To Whom the lord of this Manor by the said Deputy Steward Granted the Same To Hold to him the said William Cobbett the Son his Heirs and assigns forever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor Subject to the Charges mentioned in the said Will of the said William Cobbett his late Father deceased by the Yearly Rent of two Pence Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of right accustomed And he gave to the Lord as a Fine for this and his three former Admittances as appears in the Margin [£27] He is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod and his Fealty is Respited.
And immediately after such the several Admittances of the said William Cobbett the Son he the said William Cobbett being still in Court in his proper Person Surrendered by the Rod into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the acceptance of the said Deputy Steward according to the Custom of the said Manor  All that Tenement with the Appurtenances called Hallers One Wood called Newcroft one other Acre of Land called Widecroft Two Acres and an half more or less lying in Great Westwoods Two Acres of Land lying near Palmers Land in South Earsh and one Barn and One Close thereto adjoining between Hallers House and Hallers Grove with the Appurtenances in Bisley aforesaid  And also all that one Parcel of Land called Longlands containing by Estimation three Acres more or less in Bisley aforesaid And also all that one Parcel of Land called Hallers Grove containing by Estimation Three Acres more or less in Bisley aforesaid And also all that Parcel of Pasture containing by Estimation Two Acres in Bisley aforesaid abutting upon the Common Mead called Westburn Mead with the Appurtenances in Bisley aforesaid To the only use and Behoof of John Loveland of Chobham in the said County of Surrey Yeoman his Heirs and Assigns for ever and to or for no other use Intent or Purpose whatsoever  Whereupon the said John Loveland being present in Court in his proper Person Prayed to be admitted to All that Tenement with the Appurtenances called Hallers One Wood called Newcroft one other Acre of Land called Widecroft Two Acres and an half more or less lying in Great Westwoods Two Acres of Land lying near Palmers Land in South Earsh and one Barn and One Close thereto adjoining between Hallers House and Hallers Grove with the Appurtenances in Bisley aforesaid in Pursuance of the said Surrender  To Whom the lord of this Manor by the said Deputy Steward Granted the Same To Hold to him the said John Loveland his Heirs and assigns forever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the Yearly Rent of Four Shillings Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of right accustomed And he gave to the Lord as a Fine for such his Admittance as appears afterwards He is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod and his Fealty is Respited.
Also at this court the said John Loveland being still present in Court in his proper person  prayed to be admitted to All that one Parcel of Land called Longlands containing by Estimation three Acres more or less in Bisley aforesaid in Pursuance of the said Surrender  To Whom the lord of this Manor by the said Deputy Steward Granted the Same To Hold to him the said John Loveland his Heirs and assigns forever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the Yearly Rent of Ten Pence Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of right accustomed And he gave to the Lord as a Fine for such his Admittance as appears afterwards He is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod and his Fealty is Respited.
Also at this court  the said John Loveland being still present in Court in his proper person humbly prayed to be admitted to All that one Parcel of Land called Hallers Grove containing by Estimation Three Acres more or less in Bisley aforesaid  in Pursuance of the said Surrender  To Whom the lord of this Manor by the said Deputy Steward Granted the Same To Hold to him the said John Loveland his Heirs and assigns forever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the Yearly Rent of Six Pence Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of right accustomed And he gave to the Lord as a Fine for such his Admittance as appears afterwards He is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod and his Fealty is Respited.
Also at this court the said John Loveland being still present in Court in his proper person and humbly prayed to be admitted to All that Parcel of Pasture containing by Estimation Two Acres in Bisley aforesaid abutting upon the Common Mead called Westburn Mead with the Appurtenances in Bisley aforesaid in Pursuance of the said Surrender  To Whom the lord of this Manor by the said Deputy Steward Granted the Same To Hold to him the said William Cobbett the Son his Heirs and assigns forever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the Yearly Rent of two Pence Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of right accustomed And he gave to the Lord as a Fine for this and his three former Admittances as appears in the Margin [£21] He is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod and his Fealty is Respited.
