At this Court upon the third Proclamation Came into Court in his proper person Joseph Bell of Marlow in the County of Bucks Grandson and Heir of John Hone deceased whose Death was presented at a Court Baron holden for this Manor on the Twelfth Day of October One thousand Seven hundred and Sixty Eight and humbly prayed to be admitted to A Barn called Old Barn and Lands to the same belonging which Came into the Hands of the Lord of this Manor on the Death of the said John Hone To whom the Lord of this Manor by his said Steward Granted the same To hold to him the said Joseph Bell his Heirs and Assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of this Manor by the Yearly Rent of ________ Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of right Accustomed And he Gave to the Lord as a Fine for such his admittance as hereafter mentioned he is admitted tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod but his Fealty is respited.
And also Whereupon at this Court upon the third Proclamation Came again into Court in his proper person the said Joseph Bell and humbly prayed to be admitted to Four Acres in the Common Field called Widecroft half an Acre in the Common Field called North Hill Four acres and an half in the Common Field called Bircroft One acre of Meadow in Westborne Mead one acre of Meadow in Churchborne Mead Two Acres of Coppice called Moltride Two Acres of Coppice Parcel of a Coppice called Church Grove which Came into the Hands of the Lord of this Manor on the Death of the said John Hone To whom the Lord of this Manor by his said Steward Granted the same To hold to him the said Joseph Bell his Heirs and Assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of this Manor by the Yearly Rent of ________ Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of right Accustomed And he Gave to the Lord as a Fine for such his second admittance as hereafter mentioned he is admitted tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod but his Fealty is respited until &c..
And also Whereupon at this Court upon the third Proclamation Came again into Court in his proper person the said Joseph Bell and humbly prayed to be admitted to Certain Customary Lands called Ramps late Whiteings which Came into the Hands of the Lord of this Manor on the Death of the said John Hone To whom the Lord of this Manor by his said Steward Granted the same To hold to him the said Joseph Bell his Heirs and Assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of this Manor by the Yearly Rent of ________ Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of right accustomed And he Gave to the Lord as a Fine for such his third admittance as hereafter mentioned he is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod but his Fealty is respited until &c.
And also Whereupon at this Court upon the third Proclamation Came again into Court in his proper person the said Joseph Bell and humbly prayed to be admitted to One Parcel of Land called Ramps by Estimation three acres with the Appurtenances which Came also into the Hands of the Lord of this Manor on the Death of the said John Hone To whom the Lord of this Manor by his said Steward Granted the same To hold to him the said Joseph Bell his Heirs and Assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of this Manor by the Yearly Rent of ________ Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of right accustomed And he Gave to the Lord as a Fine for such his fourth admittance as hereafter mentioned he is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod but his Fealty is respited until &c.
And also Whereupon at this Court upon the third Proclamation Came again into Court in his proper person the said Joseph Bell and humbly prayed to be admitted to Four acres of Arable Land lying in the Common Field Called Neltro and one Acre of Coppice Parcel of a Coppice called Church Grove with the Appurts which Came also into the Hands of the Lord of this Manor on the Death of the said John Hone To whom the Lord of this Manor by his said Steward Granted the same To hold to him the said Joseph Bell his Heirs and Assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of this Manor by the Yearly Rent of ________ Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of right accustomed And he Gave to the Lord as a Fine for such his fifth admittance as hereafter mentioned he is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod but his Fealty is respited until &c.
And also Whereupon at this Court upon the third Proclamation Came again into Court in his proper person the said Joseph Bell and humbly prayed to be admitted to One Messuage or Tenement and Garden with the Appurtenances Called Edmeads which Came also into the Hands of the Lord of this Manor on the Death of the said John Hone To whom the Lord of this Manor by his said Steward Granted the same To hold to him the said Joseph Bell his Heirs and Assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of this Manor by the Yearly Rent of ________ Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of right accustomed And he Gave to the Lord as a Fine for such his sixth admittance and for his said Five former Admittances as appears in the Margin [Fine for the whole £58] he is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod but his Fealty is respited until &c. And because it appears to this Court that the said Joseph Bell is under the Age of Twenty one Years Viz.t of the Age of Nineteen Years or thereabouts the custody as well of the Person of the said Joseph Bell as of the said Several Estates of the said Joseph Bell is Granted to Harry St John Bell his Father until the said Joseph Bell shall attain the Age of Twenty one Years He the said Harry St John Bell keeping and Observing the Customs of this Manor in all Things and keeping the said Premisses respectively in good Repair and Rendering an Account thereof to the said Infant when he shall attain the said Age of Twenty one Years and the said Harry St John Bell is admitted his Guardian accordingly.
The Homage Present That John Cobbett one of the Copyhold or Customary Tenants of this Manor who held to him and his heirs by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of this Manor All that Tenement with the Appurtenances called Hallers one Wood called Newcroft One Acre of Land called Widecroft two acres and an half more or less lying in Great Westwoods two Acres of Land lying near Palmers Land in South Earsh and one Barn and one Close thereto Adjoining between Hallers House and Hallers Grove with the Appurtenances in Bisley aforesaid And also all that one Parcel of Land called Longlands containing by Estimation three Acres more or less in Bisley aforesaid And also all that one Parcel of Land called Hallers Grove Containing by Estimation three Acres more or less in Bisley aforesaid And also all that Parcel of Pasture Containing by Estimation two Acres in Bisley aforesaid abutting upon the Common Mead called Westburn Mead with the Appurtenances in Bisley aforesaid Died since the last Court Seized of the said four several Estates Whereupon there became due and ought to have been Seized for the use of the Lord four Heriots Viz.t the Four best living animals of the said John Cobbett but the said John Cobbett at the Time of his Death had no living Animal and that Wm. And also Whereupon at this Court upon the first Proclamation came again into Court in his proper person the said William Cobbett and humbly prayed to be admitted to All that the said one Parcel of Land called Hallers Grove Containing by Estimation three Acres more or less in Bisley aforesaid To whom the Lord of the said Manor by his said Steward Granted the same To hold to him the said William Cobbett his heirs and assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the Yearly Rent of _______ Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Services and Customs therefore formerly due and of Right accustomed and he Gave to the Lord as a Fine for such his third admittance as hereafter mentioned He is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod and did Fealty to the Lord.
And also Whereupon at this Court upon the first Proclamation came again into Court in his proper person the said William Cobbett and humbly prayed to be admitted to All that the said Parcel of Pasture Containing by Estimation two Acres in Bisley aforesaid abutting upon the Common Mead called Westburn Mead with the Appurts in Bisley aforesaid To whom the Lord of the said Manor by his said Steward Granted the same To hold to him the said William Cobbett his heirs and assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the Yearly Rent of _______ Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Services and Customs therefore formerly due and of Right accustomed and he Gave to the Lord as a Fine for such his fourth admittance and for his said three former Admittances as Appears in the Margin [£14.14s] he is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod and did Fealty to the Lord.
And immediately after such Admittances the said William Cobbett being present in Court Surrendered All and Singular the said Several Premisses to which he was just before Admitted To the use and Behoof of such Person and Persons and for such Estate and Estates as the said William Cobbett shall in and by his last Will and Testament in Writing or any Writing Purporting so to be give Devise Limit or Appoint the Same.
At this Court Came into Court in his proper person Robert Clark one of the Copyhold or Customary Tenants of this Manor and Surrendered by the Rod into the Hands of the Lord of this Manor by the Acceptance of the said Steward All that his Messuage Called Cumbers with the Buildings Garden Orchard and land to the said Messuage Adjoining Containing by Estimation One Acre be the same more or less with the Appurts Situate lying and being in the Parish of Bisley afors.d within the said Manor formerly the Estate of James Miles To the only proper use and Behoof of Joshua Longley of Bisley aforesaid Wheelwright his Heirs and Assigns forever and to or for no other use Intent or Purpose whatsoever Whereupon at this Court the said Joshua Longley being present here in Court humbly prayed to be Admitted to the same Premisses with the Appurtenances To whom the Lord of this Manor by his said Steward granted the same To hold to him the said William Cobbett his heirs and assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the Yearly Rent of _______[12s] Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Services and Customs therefore formerly due and of Right accustomed and he Gave to the Lord as a Fine for such his admittance as Appears in the Margin [£2.2s] he is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod and did Fealty to the Lord.
