A View of Frank Pledge with a Court Baron of The Right Honourable Richard Lord Onslow Lord of the said Manor held for the said Manor held for the said Manor on Wednesday the Twelfth day of October in the Eighth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith &c And in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred & Sixty eight Before John Chandler Gentleman Steward there.

The Homage Present That William Goodener who held of this Manor as of this Manor to him and his heirs by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of this Manor a Parcel of Land with the appurts called Marcies lying and being within the said Manor And also a Copyhold Cottage or Tenement with the Turf hose Gardens Orchard or Backside and all other the appurts situate lying and being between Cowshott and Staverke Lane in Bisley within the said Manor Died since the last Court Seized of the said Two several Estates and that thereupon there became due to the Lord of this Manor two Heriots Viz.t two best living animals of the said William Goodener and accordingly a Cow and a Horse were seized for the use of the Lord and Compounded for by Daniel Goodener his Nephew to whom the said William Goodener in and by his last Will and Testament devised the said prem.es Whereupon at this Court upon the first Proclamation came into Court in his proper person the said Daniel Goodener and humbly prayed to be admitted to the said Parcel of Land with the appurtenances called Marcies To whom the Lord of the said Manor by his said Steward Granted the same To hold to the said Daniel Goodener his heirs and assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the Yearly Rent of Six Pence Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Services and Customs therefore formerly due and of Right accustomed and the said James Towers Gave to the Lord as a Fine for such his admittance as appears in the margin [£2] he is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod and did Fealty to the Lord.
And also whereupon at this Court upon the first Proclamation came again into Court in his proper person the said Daniel Goodener and humbly prayed to be admitted to the said Copyhold Messuage or Tenement with the Turf House Gardens Orchard or Backside and all other the appurts situate lying and being between Cowshott and Staverke Lane in Bisley within this Manor To whom the Lord of the said Manor by his said Steward Granted the same To hold to the said Daniel Goodener his heirs and assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the Yearly Rent of four Pence Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Services and Customs therefore formerly due and of Right accustomed and the said James Towers Gave to the Lord as a Fine for such his second admittance as appears in the margin [£2] he is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod and did Fealty to the Lord.

The Homage also Present That John Hone Gent who held of the Lord of this Manor as of this Manor to him and his heirs by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of this Manor a Barn called Old Barn and Lands to the same belonging by the Yearly Rent of ________ Also four acres in the Common Field called Widecroft half an acre in the Common Field called North Hill four acres and an half in the Common Field called Bircroft one acre of Meadow in Westborne Mead one acre of Meadow in Churchborne Mead Two acres of Coppice called Moltride Two acres of Coppice Parcel of a Coppice called Church Grove by the Yearly Rent of ________ Certain Customary Lands called Namps late Whiteings by the Yearly Rent of ________ One parcel of Land called Ramps by Estimation three acres with the appurts by the Yearly Rent of ________ four acres of arable Land lying in the Common Field called Neltro and one Acre of Coppice Parcel of a Coppice called Church Grove with the appurts by the Yearly Rent of ________ and one Messuage or Tenement and Garden with the appurts called Edmeads by the Yearly Rent of ________ Died since the last Court Seized of the Six several Estates and that thereupon there became due to the Lord of this Manor Six Heriots Viz.t the six best living animals of the said John Hone but he had only one Black Gelding which was Seized for the use of the Lord for the said Barn called Old Barn and Lands to the same belonging and that the said John Hone devised the said Estates to his Grandson John Bell and his heirs an Infant aged about Nineteen years  Whereupon the first Proclamation is made if the said John Bell or any other Person or Persons who hath or have a Right to be admitted to the said Prem.es with the appurts will come into Court and take the same out of the Lords hands he she or they shall be heard but Nobody came Whereupon the first Proclamat.n and default are here inrolled.

The Homage also Present That James Towers who held of the Lord of this Manor as of this Manor to him and his heirs by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of this Manor One Cottage and fourteen Rods of Land by Estimation more or less and one parcel of Land called the Common Plott by Estimation one Quarter of an acre lying at Knaphill in Bisley by the Yearly Rent of one shilling Died since the last Court Seized thereof and that thereupon there became due to the Lord one Heriot Viz.t the best living animal of the said James Towers and accordingly a Cow was seized for the use of the Lord and that Ann Towers is his only Sister and next heir of full age  Whereupon the first Proclamation is made if the said Ann Towers or any other Person or Persons who hath or have a Right to be admitted to the said Premisses with the appurtenances will come into Court and take the same out of the Lords hands she he or they shall be heard but Nobody came Whereupon the first Proclamation and Default are here inrolled.

The Homage also Present a certain Surrender taken out of Court and since the last Court, to wit, on the Twenty first Day of June One Thousand Seven hundred and Sixty Eight Whereby Henry Stedman one of the Copyhold or Customary Tenants of this Manor did Surrender into the Hands of the Lord of this Manor by the acceptance of Arthur Harding and John Cobbett two other Copyhold or Customary Tenants of the said Manor his Copyhold Arable Land in the Common Field called Neltro in Bisley by Estimation One Acre more or less, And half an Acre of Meadow in Churchburne Mead with the Appurts All lying and being in the Manor of Bisley  To the only use and Behoof of John Field of Worplesdon in the County of Surrey Cordwainer and his heirs and Assigns forever according to the Custom of the said Manor  Whereupon upon the first Proclamation Came into Court in his Proper Person the said John Field and humbly prayed of the Lord to be admitted to the said Prem.es with the Appurts To whom the Lord of the said Manor by his said Steward Granted the same To hold unto the said John Field his heirs and Assigns forever BY Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the Yearly Rent of ________ Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Custom s and Services therefore formerly due and of right accustomed And he gave to the Lord as a Fine for such his Admittance as appears in the Margin [£1.11s.6d] he is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod but his Fealty is Respited because &c.

At this Court came into Court in his Proper Person John Cobbett of Bisley in the said County Yeoman and Surrendered by the Rod into the Hands of the Lord of this Manor by the Rod [sic] according to the Custom of the said Manor All that Customary Messuage or Tenement with the Barns Buildings Gardens Orchards and Backsides together with all and every the Copyhold Lands and Hereditaments whatsoever or wheresoever and all Arable Meadow Pasture and Feeding Lands with their and every of their Appurtenances of him the said John Cobbett Situate lying and being in the said Manor and Parish of Bisley  To the only use and Behoof of John Jarrett of Horsel in the said County Husbandman and his heirs and Assigns forever Provided always if the said John Cobbett his Heirs Executors Administrators or Assigns shall and do well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said John Jarrett his Executors or Administrators the full and just Sum of Sixty Pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain with Interest for the same at the Rate of Four Pounds for one hundred Pounds for a year on or upon the Twelfth Day of April next ensuing without any Deduction or Abatement Then the said Surr.r is to be Void and of no Effect or Else Remain in full force and Virtue.
