The Homage Present That Henry Walden of Old Brentford in the County of Middlesex Victualler who holds of the Lord of the said Manor for his life with Remainder to the Right Heirs of his late Wife formerly Sarah Call the Messuage with the appurts hereinafter mentioned by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor Did out of Court and since the last Court to wit on the Sixth day of July in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty four Surrender into the Hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the Acceptance of the said Steward The said Messuage or Tenement with the appurts (that is to say) All that Customary Messuage or Tenement with the appurts Together with the Edifices Buildings Garden Orchard and Curtilage to the said Messuage or Tenement belonging Situate and lying in Bisley Green in the parish of Bisley aforesaid abutting on the said Green on the South North and East parts and now in the Occupation of George Slyfield his undertenants or assigns And all the Estate Right Title Interest property Claim and Demand whatsoever of him the said Henry Walden of in and to the said Prem.es or any part or parcel thereof To the use and Behoof of George Slyfield of Bisley aforesaid Husbandman (Nephew and Heir of the said Sarah Walden) his Heirs and Assigns and to and for no other Use intent or purpose whatsoever Whereupon at this Court upon the first Proclamation being made cometh here into Court the said George Slyfield in his Proper Person and humbly prayeth to be Admitted to the said Messuage or Tenement and Prem.es with the appurts To whom the Lord of the said Manor by his said Steward Granted the same To hold to him the said George Slyfield his Heirs and Assigns for ever By Copy of Court Roll at the will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the Yearly rent of four pence Heriot when it shall happen suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of right accustomed and he gave to the Lord as a Fine for such his admission as hereinafter mentioned He is admitted Tenant thereof Hath Seizin by the Rod But his Fealty is respited.
And afterwards at this Court cometh here again into Court in his Proper Person the said George Slyfield and Surrendered into the Hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the acceptance of the said Steward the said Messuage or Tenement and Premises to which he was immediately before Admitted To the Use and Behoof of Himself and Mary his Wife their Heirs and assigns Whereupon came here again into Court in their proper Persons the said George Slyfield and Mary his Wife and humbly Pray to be Admitted to the said Messuage or Tenement and Prem.es with the appurts according to the said Surrender To whom the Lord of the said Manor by his said Steward Granted the same accordingly (that is to say) To hold to him the said George Slyfield and Mary his Wife their Heirs and assigns for ever By Copy of Court Roll at the will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the Yearly rent of four pence Heriot when it shall happen suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of right accustomed And the said George Slyfield Gave to the Lord as a Fine for such their said Several Admissions as appears in the Margin [] They are admitted Tenants thereof have Seizin by the Rod and the said George Slyfield Did Fealty to the Lord.
At this Court cometh here into Court in his Proper Person Thomas Wisdom a Copyhold or Customary Tenant of the said Manor and Surrendered into the Hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the acceptance of the said Steward One Messuage or Cottage and One acre of Land with the appurts to the same adjoining lying in Bisley within the said Manor And also the Scite of a Cottage or Tenement called Vannitts and one Acre of Land to the same belonging with the Appurts And also One Acre of Land late part of the waste adjoining to a Close called Hassell Hill within the said Manor To the use and Behoof of John Garrett of Horsell in the County of Surry Husbandman his Heirs and assigns for ever Under and Subject to this Provisoe That if the said Thomas Wisdom his Heirs Executors or Admors shall and do Pay or cause to be paid unto the said John Garrett his Executors Admors or assigns the full Sum of Thirty Pounds with Interest for the same after the rate of four Pounds for the Hundred by the year of lawful money of Great Britain at or upon the Sixteenth Day of April next ensuing the date hereof without any Deduction or abatement whatsoever That then this Surrender to be void or else to remain in full force.
The Homage also Present That Robert Goodener of Wokeing in the County of Surry Yeoman a Copyhold or Customary Tenant of the said Manor Did out of Court to wit on the third Day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and Sixty three Surrender into the Hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the acceptance of the said Steward All that parcell of Customary arable Land with the appurts called Lomepitts lying in three Severals containing in the whole by Estimation Nine Acres and now in the Occupation of the said Robert Goodener abutting upon the Lands of William Goodener on the South and on the Lands of Solomon Dayrolle on the East together with all the rights members and appurts to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining To the use and Behoof of Thomas Atfield of Guildford in the said County of Surry Blacksmith his Heirs and assigns for ever Under a Provisoe That if the said Robert Goodener his Heirs Executors or Admors shall and do well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said Thomas Atfield his Executors Admors or assigns the full Sum of Seventy Pounds with Interest for the same after the rate of four Pounds and ten Shillings for the Hundred by the year of lawful money of Great Britain at or upon the Second Day of July next Ensuing the date hereof without any Deduction or abatement to be made or taken out of the same on any account whatsoever That then the said Surrender should be void.
The Homage also Present That Marey Rempnant of Pyrbright in the County of Surry Spinster one of the Copyhold or Customary Tenants of the said Manor Did out of Court to wit on the Twenty ninth Day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and Sixty three Surrender into the Hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the acceptance of the said Steward All and every her Customary Messuages Lands Tenements and Hereditaments Situate lying and being within and held by Copy of Court Roll of the said Manor To the Use and Behoof of such Person or Persons and for such Estate and Estates and under and Subject to such Conditions directions Limitations and appointments as the said Marey Rempnant in and by her last Will and Testament in writing duly executed shall Give Devise limit direct or appoint the same.
At this Court upon the Humble request of William Draper Esquire The Lord of the said Manor by his said Steward Granted to him the said William Draper a Licence to let to William Clues his Executors Admors and Assigns The Copyhold Messuage Farm and Lands with their appurts of the said William Draper within the said Parish of Bisley containing together in the whole by Estimation Forty nine Acres or thereabouts be the same more or less held by the said William Draper of the said Manor by eight several Copies of Court Roll Eight several yearly rents amounting in the whole to the Sum of twelve Shillings and four pence half penny and by one Heriot To hold to the said William Clues for any Term not exceeding Seven Years from Michaelmas One thousand Seven hundred and Sixty two Saving nevertheless and reserving unto the said Lord such Rents Fines Customs and Services as shall from time to time Grow due and be of right accustomed as fully and Effectually to all Intents and purposes as if the said Licence had not been Granted.
