A View of Frank Pledge with a Court Baron of the most Honourable Richard Lord Onslow Lord of the said Manor held for the said Manor on Thursday the Fifteenth day of October in the First Year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith &c And in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred & Sixty One Before John Chatfield  Gentleman Steward there.

The Homage present that William Collyer of Knaphill who held to him and his Heirs by Copy of Court Roll at the will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor Two Closes of Arable Land called the Bisley Fields and Float Fields containing by Estimation together ten Acres be the same more or less situate lying and being in Bisley aforesaid with all and every the Appurtenances by the Yearly rent of One Shilling Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of right Accustomed died since the last Court upon whose death there became due and o.ght to have been seized to the use of the Lord of the Lord of the said Manor Heriot (to wit) the best Animal But the said William Collyer at the time of his Death had not any Animal And that the said William Collyer in and by his last Will and Testament Devised the same to his Daughter Jane Goreing Widow her Heirs and Assigns  Whereupon at this Court cometh here into Court the said ropper Person the said Jane Goreing and humbly prays to be Admitted to the said Land and Premises with the Appurtenances To whom the Lord of the said Manor by his said Steward Granted the same To hold to her the said Jane Goreing her Heirs and Assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the Yearly rent of One Shilling Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of right accustomed And she gave to the Lord as a Fine for such her Admission as appears in the Margin [7d] she is Admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the rod but her Fealty is respited.

The Homage Also present that Elizabeth the Wife of James Collyer who held to her and her Heirs of the Lord of the Manor by Copy of Court Roll at the will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the Yearly rent of Two pence Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of right Accustomed All that Copyhold Messuage or Tenement called or known by the Name of Staple Brooks with the Barn and all Buildings Orchard Garden Yards and one Close of Meadow Land by Estimation two Acres more or less and one Acre of Arable Land abutting on Land of James Martyr and the Common there situate in Bisley within the said Manor then in the Occupation of Thomas Loveland And who also held in like manner to her and her Heirs All that Copyhold Messuage or Tenement Barn Yard Outhouses Workhouses Gardens Orchards and Backsides thereunto belonging together with a Close of Arable Land thereto adjoining containing by Estimation One Acre more or less Abutting on the Glebe Land and Common there situate in Bisley heretofore in the Occupation of William Taylor by the Yearly rent of One Shilling heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of right Accustomed died since the last Court And that Elizabeth Collyer her Eldest Daur is her next Heir according to the Custom of the said Manor and of the Age of Eleven Years or thereabouts  Whereupon at this Court came here into Court the said Elizabeth Collyer the Infant and Humbly prayed of the Lord of the said Manor to be Admitted to All that Messuage or Tenement Lands and Premises called Staple Brooks with the Appurtenances To whom the Lord of the said Manor by his said Steward Granted the same To hold to her the said Elizabeth Collyer her Heirs and Assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the Yearly rent of two Pence halfpenny Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of right accustomed And the said Elizabeth Collyer the Infant paid to the Lord as a Fine for such her Admission as hereinafter mentioned she is Admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the rod but her Fealty is respited.
And also at this Court came here again into Court the said Elizabeth Collyer the Infant and Humbly prayed to be Admitted to the said other Messuage or Tenement Lands and Premises heretofore in the Occupation of William Taylor  with the Appurts To whom the Lord of the said Manor by his said Steward Granted the same To hold to her the said Elizabeth Collyer her Heirs and Assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the Yearly rent of One Shilling Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of right accustomed She is Admitted Tenant thereof Hath seizin by the rod but her Fealty is respited. And she gave to the Lord as a Fine for such her several Admissions to the said several Estates as appears in the Margin [£8.8s]  And because it appears to this Court that the said Elizabeth Collyer is under the age of Twenty one Years Viz.t of the Age of Eleven Years or thereabouts the Custody as well of the person of the said Elizabeth Collyer as of the said several Estates of her the said Elizabeth Collyer is granted to James Collyer her Father untill the said Elizabeth shall attain the said Age of Twenty one Years  He the said James Collyer in all things Observing and keeping the Customs of the said Manor keeping the said Premises respectively in good repair and rendring an Account of the rents and Profitts thereof respectively to the said Infant when she shall attain the said Age of Twenty one Years And the said James Collyer is admitted her Guardian to the said several Estates severally and accordingly.

The Homage Also present that William Goodener of the parish of Bisley in the County of Surry Husbandman a Copyhold or Customary Tenant of the said Manor Did on the Eighteenth day of July last according to the Custom of the said Manor Surrender into the Hands of the Lord of the Manor by Copy of Court Roll at the will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the Acceptance of John Chatfield Gentleman Steward of the Courts of the said Manor All and every his Customary Messuages Lands Tenements and
Hereditaments situate lying and being within and held by Copy of Court Roll of the said Manor To the use and behoof of such Persons or Persons and for such Estate and Estates and under and Subject to such Conditions Limitations and Appointments as the said William Goodener in and by his last Will and Testament in Writing duely Executed shall give Devise direct or appoint the same.

The Homage Also present that Edward Lawford of Wokeing in the County of Surry Shopkeeper in and by his last Will & Testament bearing date on or about the twenty sixth day of February One Thousand seven hundred and Sixty three Gave and Devised all his Lands Tenements and Hereditaments with their Appurts lying within the said Manor unto his Daughter Sarah Lawford her Heirs and Assigns who afterwards intermarried with Richard Goater and is since dead and that Sarah Goater is her Eldest Daughter and next Heir an Infant under the Age of Twenty one Years Viz.t of the Age of Six Years or thereabouts  And Whereas it was presented by the Homage at the last Court held for the said Manor that Ann Lawford who held for her Life with remainder to the right Heirs of Edward Lawford her late husband deceased divers Copyhold Lands Viz.t All those three pieces of Land being Coppice Ground containing by Estimation one Acre and an half And one Acre and an half called Brook Ground more or less And one Close of Land called rough Ground containing by Estimation three Acres with the Appurtenances in Bisley Died since the then last Court Whereupon at this Court came here into Court the said Sarah Goater the Infant and humbly prayed of the Lord of the said Manor to be Admitted to the several Pieces of Land and Premises with their Appurtenances To whom the Lord of the said Manor by his said Steward Granted the same To hold to the said Sarah Goater her Heirs and Assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the Yearly rent of two Shillings Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of right accustomed And the said Sarah Goater the Infant paid to the Lord as a Fine for such her Admission as appears in the Margin [£4] she is Admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the rod but her Fealty is respited.
And Because it appears to this Court that the said Sarah Goater is under the age of Twenty one Years Viz.t of the Age of Six Years or thereabouts the Custody as well of the person of the said Elizabeth Collyer as of the said several Estates of her the said Sarah Goater is granted to the said Richard Goater her Father untill the said Sarah Goater shall attain the said Age of Twenty one He the said Richard Goater in all things Observing and keeping the Customs of the said Manor keeping the said Premises in good repair and rendring an Account of the rents and Profitts thereof to the said Infant when she shall attain the said Age of Twenty one Years And the said Richard Goater is admitted her Guardian accordingly.

The Homage Also present that Richard Hodd of Wokeing in the County of Surry Yeoman one of the Customary or Copyhold Tenants of the Manor of Bisley Did out of Court and since the last Court to wit on the twenty second day of April in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and Sixty Surrender into the Hands of the Lord of the Manor by Copy of Court Roll at the will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the Acceptance of Robert Goodener the Elder and Robert Goodener the Younger two other Copyhold Tenants of the said Manor All that his Copyhold Messuage or Tenements and
and his Copyhold Lands thereunto belonging by estimation Four Acres and a Half be the same more or less together with all Barns Buildings Outhouses Orchards and Gardens with the Appurtenances called or known by the Name of Edsaws lying and being in the Parish of Bisley in the County of Surry which was given to him in and by the last Will and Testament of his Father Richard Hodd the Elder late of Bisley deceased to such Use and Uses and to such Persons or Persons and to such Intents and Purposes as the said Richard Hodd hath or will in and by his last Will and Testament Limitt and Appoint the same.

At this Court the second Proclamation was made for the Heir at Law of John Eyres or such other person or persons who hath or have a right to be Admitted to the scite of a certain Copyhold Messuage and Buildings with the Appurtenances in Chatern Row in the parish of Bisley held of the said Manor by Copy of Court roll at the will of the Lord according to the Custom thereof at the Yearly rent of three Pence would come into Court and claim the same he she or they should be heard but nobody came The like Proclamation was also made as to the scite of another Messuage or Tenement with the Appurtenances formerly John Martin’s held by the Yearly rent of ___________ but nobody came and which three several Tenements came into the Hands of the Lord of the aid Manor upon the Death of the said John Eyres as Presented the seventeenth day of October One Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty Whereupon the second Proclamation and default as to each of the said Three Copyhold Tenements is here Inrolled.
