A View of Frank Pledge with a Court Baron held for the said Manor on Thursday the nineteenth day of October in the thirty second year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith &r and in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred & Fifty eight Before John Chatfield Gentleman Steward there.

The Homage present That Henry Whittall Son and heir of Henry Whittall Deceased by Deed Poll bearing date the nineteenth day of October One thousand seven hundred & Fifty eight Did Release the Equity and Benefit of Redemption of and in All that Copyhold Messuage or Tenement called Staple Brooks with the Barn and all outbuildings Orchards Gardens Yards and one Close of Meadow Ground by Estimation Two Acres and one Close of Arrable or pasture Land by estimation One Acre more or less abutting on Land of James Martyr and the Common there And Also All that Copyhold Messuage or Tenement Barn Yard Outhouses Workhouses Gardens Orchards and Backsides together with a Close of  Arrable or pasture Land thereto adjoining by estimation One Acre abutting on the Glebe and Common there situate in Bisley unto James Collyer and Elizabeth his Wife and the Heirs and Assigns of the said Elizabeth As by the said Deed now produced here in Court under the hand and Seal of the said Henry Whittall more plainly appears

The Homage also present That Robert Barrett who held to him and his Heirs by Copy of Court Roll at the will of the Lord according to the custom of the said Manor The Scite of one Messuage or Cottage and certain customary Lands to the same belonging containing by estimation one acre or thereabouts with the Appurtenances in Bisley is dead and that Mary the Wife of Bernerd Dubois was his Eldest Daughter and next Heir according to the custom of the Said Manor who is since dead And that John Dubois an Infant of the age of ten years or thereabouts is her Eldest Son and next heir whereupon at this Court came here into Court the said John Dubois By James Peether his next Friend and humbly prayed that the said John Dubois might be admitted to the said Messuage Land and Premises with the Appurtenances To whom the Lord of the said Manor by his said Steward Granted the same To hold to him the said John Dubois according to the Custom of the said Manor by the yearly rent of Two shillings ???x?? Herriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other customs and Services therefore formerly due and of Right accustomed and the said John Peether paid to the Lord as a Fine for such the Admission  of the said John Dubois as appears in the Margin [16s]  He is admitted Tenant thereof and hath Seizin by the Rod But his Fealty is Respited And because it appears that the said John Dubois is under the age of Twenty one Years Viz.t of the age of ten years or thereabouts the custody as well of the person of the said John Dubois as of the Estate of the said John Dubois is Granted to the said James Peether until he shall Attain his Age of twenty one Years by the rent customs and Services before due and of Right accustomed and the said James Peether is Admitted Guardian accordingly.

The Homage also present that Edmund Cliffton of Bisley in the County of Surry Brickmaker One of the Copyhold Tenants of the said Manor did out of Court and since the last Court (to wit) on the tenth day of January in the year of our Lord  One thousand seven hundred & Fifty eight Surrender by the Rodd into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the hands and acceptance of William Goodener and John Hill two other customary Copyhold Tenants of the said Manor All that his Copyhold Messuage or Tenement and all that the Copyhold Lands and Premises in Bisley and held of the said Manor by Copy of Court Roll with all and every the Appurtenances To the use and Behoof of such person or persons And upon such conditions Provisoes Trusts and Limitations as the said Edmund Cliffton hath or shall by his last Will and Testament under his hand and Seal Direct Limit or appoint the same.
