The Homage present that Elizabeth the Wife of Richard Walden who held to her and her Heirs by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord According to the Custom of the said Manor one Parcell of Land Containing by Estimation One Acre and half an Acre more or less called Bisley Mead by the Yearly Rent of four Pence Herriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of Right Accustomed died since the last Court and that Elizabeth the Wife of Joseph Spooner is her Eldest Daughter and next Heir according to the Custom of the said Manor Whereupon at this Court came the said Elizabeth the Wife of Joseph Spooner and humbly prayed of the Lord of the said Manor to be Admitted to the said Parcell of Land To whom the Lord of the said Manor by his said Steward Granted the same To Hold to her the said Elizabeth the Wife of Joseph Spooner her Heirs and Assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the yearly Rent of four pence Herriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of Right Accustomed And the said Elizabeth Spooner gave to the Lord as a Fine for such her admission as Appears in the Margin [£2.10s] she is Admitted Tenant thereof has Seizin by the Rod but her Fealty is Respited.
The Homage also present that Jane Goreing who held to her and her Heirs by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord According to the Custom of the said Manor a Parcell of Land called Cobbets Copice containing by Estimation two Acres be the same more or less by the Yearly Rent of Two Pence Herriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of Right Accustomed And who also held to her and her Heirs by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord According to the Custom of the said Manor All that Tenement called Cowhurst and two Closes called the Barn Closes containing by Estimation four Acres and one Close called the Church Close containing by Estimation Three Acres and one Close Abutting on the Barn late of Thomas Blundell containing by Estimation Two Acres and four Acres called Rastells lying and being in Bisley aforesaid with all and Singular their Appurtenances by the Yearly Rent of Two Shillings and four Pence Herriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of Right Accustomed and that Elizabeth the Wife of James Collyer is her Eldest Sister and next Heir according to the Custom of the said Manor Whereupon at this Court Proclamation was made for the said Elizabeth the Wife of James Collyer or such other Person or Persons who is or are Intituled to the said Land called Cobbets Coppice And also to all that Tenement called Cowhurst with the Lands thereto belonging to come into Court and they shall be heard but nobody came whereupon the first proclamation is here Inrolled.
The Homage also present that John Kidder one of the Copyhold or Customary Tenants of the said Manor did out of Court and since the last Court (to wit) the Thirtieth day of April in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty Six Surrender into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the Acceptance of the said Steward One Close of Customary Arrable Land late Wood Land containing by Estimation two Acres more or less and Two Acres of Land more or less lying in the Common Field called Northill in Bisley aforesaid with the Appurtenances to the only use and behoof of John Field of Worplesdon in the County of Surry Cordwainer his Heirs and Assigns for ever and to and for no other Use Interest or Purpose whatsoever Whereupon at this Court Came here into Court in his Proper Person the said John Field and humbly prayed to be Admitted to the said Several Pieces or Parcells of Land with their Appurtenances To whom the Lord of the said Manor by his said Steward Granted the same To Hold to him the said John Field his Heirs and Assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the yearly Rent of Six pence Herriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of Right Accustomed And the said John Field gave to the Lord as a Fine for such his admission as Appears in the Margin [£3] he is Admitted Tenant thereof has Seizin by the Rod but his Fealty is Respited.
The Homage also present that William Fisher of Crondall in the County of Southampton Taylor did out of Court and since the last Court (to wit) the fourth day of October in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty Six Surrender into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the Acceptance of the said Steward All that his Messuage called Cambers with the Buildings Garden Orchard and Land to the said Messuage Adjoining Containing by Estimation one Acre be the same more or less with the Appurtenances Situate lying and being in the Parish of Bisley within the said Manor now or late in the Occupation of James Miles To the use and behoof of Robert Clarke of Crondall aforesaid Husbandman his Heirs and Assigns for ever and to and for no other Use Interest or Purpose whatsoever Whereupon at this Court Came the said Robert Clarke in his Proper Person and humbly prayed to be Admitted to the said Messuage Buildings Garden and Orchard with the Appurtenances To whom the Lord of the said Manor by his said Steward Granted the same To Hold to him the said Robert Clarke his Heirs and Assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the yearly Rent of Three half Pence Herriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of Right Accustomed And the said Robert Clarke gave to the Lord as a Fine for such his admission as Appears in the Margin [£2.2s] he is Admitted Tenant thereof has Seizin by the Rod did Fealty to the Lord.
The Homage also present that at a Court Baron held for the said Manor the Third day of October in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Thirty Eight John Kidder did in open Court duly Surrender into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor All that Customary Messuage or Tenement with the Orchard formerly in the Tenure of Philip Roberts and one Close of Land to the same belonging Containing by Estimation one Acre more or less and one Acre of Land more or less lying in Neltro within this Manor with the Appurtenances To the use and behoof of William Grove of Worplesdon in the County of Surry Gentleman his Heirs and Assigns for ever Under and Subject to a proviso for making the said Surrender Void on payment of Fifty Pounds and Interest after the rate of four pounds for the Hundred by the year till paid and all charges as otherwise Appears by the Rolls of the Court of the said Manor And that the said Fifty Pounds and all interest accrued due for the same from the day of makeing the said Surrender still remains due And that Mary the Wife of Thomas Millist of Chertsey in the County of Surry Yeoman the Eldest Daughter of Mary the Wife of William Berryman late of Chertsey aforesaid Farmer Deceased who was the Eldest Daughter of William Grove late of Ashford in the County of Middlesex Wheelwright Deceased who was the only Brother of Richard Grove late of Worplesdon in the said County of Surry Yeoman Deceased Father of the said William Grove late of Worplesdon aforesaid According to the Custom of the said Manor is Heir of the said William Grove late of Worplesdon Deceased Whereupon at this Court Came the said Mary the Wife of Thomas Millist and humbly prayed to be Admitted to the said Messuage or Tenement Land and Premises with their Appurtenances To whom the Lord of the said Manor by his said Steward Granted the same To Hold to her the said Mary the Wife of Thomas Millist her Heirs and Assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the yearly Rent of Ten Pence Herriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of Right Accustomed She is Admitted Tenant thereof has Seizin by the Rod but her Fealty is Respited and she gave to the Lord as a Fine for such her Admittance as hereafter mentioned.
And afterwards at this Court came here into Court the said Thomas Millist and Mary his Wife (the said Mary being first examined by the said Steward Separate and apart from her said Husband and having consented thereto) in full and open Court Surrendered into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the Acceptance of the said Steward All that the aforesaid Messuage or Tenement Land and Premises with their Appurtenances to which the said Mary the Wife of the said Thomas Millist was here in Court Immediately before Admitted To the use and behoof of Henry Atfield of Worplesdon his Heirs and Assigns for ever subject to the Proviso before mentioned Whereupon at this Court came the said Henry Atfield and humbly prayed to be Admitted to the said Messuage or Tenement Land and Premises with their Appurts To whom the Lord of the said Manor by his said Steward Granted the same To Hold to him the said Henry Atfield his Heirs and Assigns for ever (Subject as aforesaid) by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the yearly Rent of Ten Pence Herriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of Right Accustomed he is Admitted Tenant thereof has Seizin by the Rod but his Fealty is Respited and he gave to the Lord as a Fine for such his Admittance as appears in the Margin [Fines in the whole £4.4s].
The Homage also Present that on the Death of Jane Goreing Elizabeth the Wife of James Collyer is become the Eldest Daughter and next Heir according to the Custom of the said Manor of her late Father John Goreing Deceased who held to him and his Heirs by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor all that Copyhold Messuage or Tenement Barn Yard Outhouses Workhouses Gardens Orchards and Backsides thereunto belonging together with a Close of Arrable Land thereto Adjoining Containing by Estimation one Acre more or less and one Acre of Land more or less abutting on the Glebe Land and Common there Situate in Bisley heretofore in the Occupation of William Taylor by the Yearly Rent of one Shilling Herriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of Right Accustomed And who also held to him and his Heirs by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor all that one Copyhold Messuage or Tenement called or known by the Name of Staple Brooks with the Barn and all buildings Orchard Garden yards and one Acre of Arrable Land abutting on Land of James Martyr and the Common there Situate in Bisley within the said Manor then in the Occupation of Thomas Loveland by the Yearly Rent of two Pence Herriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of Right Accustomed Whereupon at this Court came the said Elizabeth Collyer and humbly prayed to be Admitted to the said Messuage or Tenement Land and Premises with their Appurtenances heretofore in the Occupation of William Taylor To whom the Lord of the said Manor by his said Steward Granted the same To Hold to her the said Elizabeth Collyer her Heirs and Assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the yearly Rent of one Shilling Herriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of Right Accustomed and she gave to the Lord as a Fine for such her Admittance as hereafter mentioned sis Admitted Tenant thereof has Seizin by the Rod but her Fealty is Respited.
And also at this Court came again the said Elizabeth Collyer and humbly prayed to be Admitted to all that Copyhold Messuage or Tenement Land and Premises with their Appurtenances called Staple Brooks To whom the Lord of the said Manor by his said Steward Granted the same To Hold to her the said Elizabeth Collyer her Heirs and Assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the yearly Rent of two Pence half Penny Herriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of Right Accustomed She is Admitted Tenant thereof has Seizin by the Rod She gave to the Lord as a Fine for such her Admittance as appears in the Margin [£8.8s] and her Fealty is Respited.
The Homage also present that the said Jane Goreing did out of Court and Since the last Court the Sixteenth day of October in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty five Surrender into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the Acceptance of the said Steward All and every her Copyhold Messuages Lands Tenements and Hereditaments held of and lying within within the said Manor of Bisley To the use and behoof of such Person or Persons and for such Estate and Estates and under and Subject to such Conditions Directions Limitations and Appointments as the said Jane Goreing should in and by her last Will and Testament in Writeing Limit Direct or Appoint but whether she made any Will or not they know not
At this Court upon the Second Proclamation came here into Court in her Proper Person Elizabeth the Wife of James Collyer and humbly prayed to be Admitted to all that Meadow containing by Estimation four Acres Adjoining to the Lane leading to Church Mead on the East part and Lands of John Phillips on the West part according to the Devise in the Will of her late Father John Goreing Deceased and which came into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor on the Death of her said Father as Entered on the Rolls of the Court of the said Manor at the last Court Baron held for the same To whom the Lord of the said Manor by his said Steward Granted the same To Hold to her the said Elizabeth Collyer her Heirs and Assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Will of her said Father and the Custom of the said Manor by the yearly Rent of Six Pence Herriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of Right Accustomed and She gave to the Lord as a Fine for such her Admittance as hereafter mentioned She is Admitted Tenant thereof has Seizin by the Rod but her Fealty is Respited.
And also at this Court upon the Second Proclamation came agaian the said Elizabeth Collyer and humbly prayed to be Admitted to a Parcell of Land called Miles Grove by Estimation four Acres be the same more or less and which also came into the Lords hands on the Death of her said Father according to the Devise in his said Will To whom the Lord of the said Manor by his said Steward Granted the same To Hold to her the said Elizabeth Collyer her Heirs and Assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the yearly Rent of three Pence Herriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of Right Accustomed She is Admitted Tenant thereof has Seizin by the Rod but her Fealty is Respited and She gave to the Lord as a Fine for such her said Several Admissions to the said Several Estates as Appars in the Margin [£9.9s].
At ths Court the third Proclamation was made for the Heir at Law of Catherine Goldwire heretofore Catherine Cheeseman or such other Person or Persons who hath or have a right to be Admitted To all that Messuage or Tenement called Brizes with the Appurtenances now in the Occupation of Humphrey Field lying and being within the said Manor of Bisley heretofore the Estate of Ann Jewit which came into the hands of the Lord on the Death of the said Catherine Goldwire as Presented and Inrolled at a Court Baron held for the said Manor the fourth day of October One Thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty four to come into Court and be Admitted thereto but nobody came whereupon third Proclamation is here Inrolled
At ths Court the Second Proclamation was made for Thomas Washbourn Eldest Son and Heir of Thomas Washbourn Deceased or such other Person or Persons who hath or have a right to be Admitted To all the Moiety of Three Closes of Land with the Appurts of which the said Thomas Washbourn died Seized to come into Court and be Admitted thereto but nobody came whereupon the second Proclamation is here Inrolled
