The Homage present a certain Surrender taken out of Court and since the last Court to wit The Seventh day of January One Thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty four by the acceptance of the said Steward whereby John Field of Worplesdon in the County of Surry Cordwainer One of the Copyhold Tenants of the said Manor Surrendered into the Lord’s Hands All and every the Messuages Lands Tenements and Hereditaments with their and every of their Appurtenances had of the said Manor  To the use and behoofe of such person and persons and for such Estate and Estates and to for and upon Such uses Intents and purposes As he the said John Field should in and by his Last Will and Testament in Writeing Limit Direct or Appoint the same

The Homage also present a certain Surrender taken out of Court and since the last Court to wit The Sixteenth day of January One Thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty four by the acceptance of James Martin and Moses Everit two Copyhold Tenants of the said Manor whereby George Rempnant of Bisley in the County of Surry Yeoman One other of the Copyhold Tenants of the said Manor Surrendered into the Lord’s Hands All his Several Copyhold Messuages or Tenements and all his Copyhold Lands in Bisley with all and every the Appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise Appertaining called  or known by any Names Whatsoever and held of the Manor of Bisley by Copy of Court Roll according to the Custom of the said Manor to such person and persons and for such Estate and Estates and for such Uses Intents and purposes As he the said George Rempnant Should in and by his Last Will and Testament in Writeing Limit Direct or Appoint
The Homage also present a certain Surrender taken out of Court and since the last Court To wit the Eighth day of April One Thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty four by the acceptance of the said James Martin, James Marter of Woking in the County of Surry Farmer One of the Copyhold Tenants of the said Manor Surrendered into the Lord’s Hands All that his Copyhold Messuage or Tenement called Rascals Grove with the Barn Buildings Orchards Gardens and all the Lands thereto belonging with the Appurtenances Containing by Estimation five Acres more or less Situate lying and being in Bisley in the said County of Surry then in the Occupation of William Slaughter To the use and behoof of John Wilt of Pirbright in the said County Husbandman and of his Heirs and Assigns forever  Whereupon in full and open Court Proclamation was made for the said John Wilt to come into Court and be admitted to the Messuage and Lands with the Appurtenances Surrendered to him as aforesaid but nobody came

The Homage also present a certain Surrender taken out of Court and since the last Court to wit the Sixth day of May One Thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty four by the acceptance of the said Steward Whereby John Kidder One of the Copyhold Tenants of the said Manor Surrendered into the Lord’s hands One Close of Customary Arrable Land late Wood Land Containing by Estimation two acres more or less and two Acres of Land more or less lying in the Comon Field called Northhill in Bisley aforesaid with the Appurtenances To the Only use and behoof of John Field of Worplesdon in the County of Surry Cordwainer his Heirs and Assigns forever  Subject nevertheless that if the said John Kidder his Heirs Executors Administrators or Assigns Should well and truly pay unto the said John Field his Executors Administrators or Assigns the full Sume of Twenty pounds of Lawfull Money of Great Britain with Interest for the same after the Rate of Four Pounds and Ten Shillings Per Hundred in the year on or upon the Sixth day of November then next Occuring without any deduction or Abatement to be made and taken out of the same on account of Taxes or otherwise howsoever Then the said Surrender to be void.

At this Court came John Hone Gentleman in his proper person and Surrendered into the Lord’s hands All and every his Messuages Lands Tenements and Hereditaments lying and being within and held of the said Manor of Bisley To the use and behoof of such person and persons And for such Estate and Estates and upon Such Terms and Conditions as in and by his Last Will and Testament in writeing Already Executed or herefter to be Executed the same shall be Given Devised Limited Directed or Appointed.

At this Court came here into Court in their proper persons William Lang and Mary his Wife Only Daughter and Heir of William Sayer deceased (the said Mary being first Solely and Secretly Examined by the said Steward and having Consented thereto) And Also Henry Pritchett And in open Court Surrendered into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor All that Parcel of customary Arrable Land with the Appurtenances called Lome Pitts Lying in three Severels Containing in the Whole by Estimation Nine Acres and now in the Occupation of the said Henry Pritchett abutting on the Lands of William Goodener on the South And on the Lands of Solomon Dacott on the East To the use and behoof of Robert Goodener the younger his Heirs and Assigns for ever  Whereupon at this Court came into Court in his Proper Person the said Robert Goodener the younger and prayed to be Admitted to the said Parcel of Customary Land with the Appurtenances To whom the Lord of the said Manor by his said Steward Granted the same To Hold to the said Robert Goodener the younger his Heirs & assigns by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the yearly Rent of Eight pence Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs & Services therefore due and of right accustomed and the said Robert Goodener the younger paid to the Lord as a Fine for such his admission to the said premises as appears in the Margin  He is admitted Tenant thereof has seizin by the Rod and did his Fealty.

And afterwards at this same Court came here into Court in his proper person the said Robert Goodener the younger and Surrendered into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the Acceptance of the said Steward the said Parcel of Customary Arrable Land with the Appurtenances in the Occupation of the said Henry Pritchett  to whom the Lord at this Court Immediately before admitted To the use and behoof of the said Henry Pritchett his Heirs and Assigns for ever  Under and Subject to this Proviso that if the said Robert Goodener the younger his Heirs Executors or Administrators Shall and do pay or cause to be paid unto the said Henry Pritchett his Heirs Executors or Assigns the Full Sume of Fifty five pounds with Interest for the same after the Rate of Four pounds for the Hundred by the year On or upon the fourth day of April next Ensuing the date hereof without any deduction or abatement Whatsoever Then this Surrender to be void Else to remain in full force
[Margin note: Memorandum that on the Fourth day of January One thousand seven hundred and sixty two William Collyer the only Executor of the said Henry Pritchett dec.ed in this Surrender named did Acknowledge that he had received of and from Robert Goodener in this Surrender also named the sum of Fifty Six pounds and two Shillings in full satisfaction of all Principal & Interest due by virtue of & under the said Surrender & by a Warrant under his hand dated the 4th day of January 1762 impowered me to enter the same on the Rolls of the Court of the said Manor.  J Chatfield]

The Homage also present that James Wye who held for Life of the Lord of this Manor with Remainder to the Right Heirs of Elizabeth Wye his late Wife Deceased One Messuage with the Appurtenances at Gateshot End with the Barn Garden Orchard and about half an acre of Land to the same adjoining and belonging lying and being within the Manor of Bisley by the yearly Rent of Sixpence Heriot when it shall happen suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore due and of Right Accustomed Died since the last Court Upon whose Death there happened to the Lord for a Heriot a Cow Sold for One Pound and Ten Shillings and that James Wye is the Eldest Son and next Heir of the said Elizabeth  Whereupon at this Court came the said James Wye and humbly prayed of the Lord of the said Manor to be Admitted to the said Messuage or Tenement and premises with the Appurtenances To whom the Lord of the said Manor by his said Steward Granted the same To Hold to the said James Wye his Heirs & assigns forever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord According to the Custom of the said Manor by the yearly Rent of Six pence Herriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs & Services therefore due and of Right Accustomed And the said James Wye paid to the Lord as a Fine for such his admission to the said Premises as Appears in the Margin [£2.10s]  He is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod and did his Fealty.

The Homage also present that Joan Patient who held to her and her Heirs by Copy of Court Roll of the Lord According to the Custom of the said Manor All that Copyhold Messuage or Tenement with the Outbuildings Orchard Garden Yard Naib???? thereunto belonging formerly Henry Carters abutting on the Comon on the East and North Parts And the Lands formerly Thomas Martens on the West and South situate and being in Bisley aforesaid within the said Manor by the yearly Rent of Sixpence Heriot when it shall happen suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore due and of right Accustomed Died since the Last Court And that William Patient the Son of William Patient Deceased the Elder Brother of the said Joan is her next Heir  Whereupon Proclamation was made for the said William Patient the Elder Brother and next Heir of the said Joan Patient or such other Person or Persons who is or are intitled to come into Court and be admitted to the said Copyhold Messuage or Tenement and premises with the Appurtenances which came into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor on the Death of the said Joan Patient but nobody came Whereupon the First proclamation is here inrolled

The Homage also present that Catherine Goldwine heretofore Catherine Cheeseman who held to her and her Heirs at the Will of the Lord According to the Custom of the said Manor One Messuage or Tenement called Bri?a with the Appurtenances now in the occupation of Humphrey Field lying and being within the said Manor of Bisley heretofore the Estate of Anne ?????? by the yearly Rent of Four Pence Heriot when it shall happen suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore due and of right Accustomed Died since the Last Court But there happened Nothing for a Herriot she not having any Live Beast And that her Eldest Son is the next Heir  Whereupon the First Proclamation was made for the Heir at Law of the said Catherine Goldwine or such other Person or Persons who hath or have a Right to be Admitted to the said Messuage or Tenement and Premises with the Appurtenances Of which the said Catherine Goldwine Died Seized as aforesaid to come into Court and be Admitted thereto but nobody came Whereupon the First proclamation is here inrolled

The Homage also present that Mary Fry Widow who held to her for life by Virtue of and limited a Devise in the Last Will and Testament of William Fry her Husband Deceased bearing date the Twentieth day of April One Thousand Seven Hundred and Forty five and Proved in the Prerogative Court of the Arch Bishop of Canterbury the Third day of August One Thousand Seven Hundred and Forty Seven All those three Closes of Land formerly four Closes called Bridges Containing by Estimation four Acres more or less with the Appurtenances lying and being in the Parish and Manor of Bisley heretofore in the tenure of George Rempnant Jun.r and now of Moses Everit by the yearly Rent of Eight Pence Heriot when it shall happen suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore due and of right Accustomed Died since the Last Court And the said Homage further Present and Say that the said William Fry by his said Will Gave Devised and Bequeathed the said Premises to Such Person or Persons for such Estate and Estates and Chargeable with the Payment of such Lagacy or Legacies Sum or Sums of Money and of such a Fine or fines as his said Wife Mary Fry Should in her Life time by any Deed or Deeds to be by her Duly Signed and Sealed in the presence of two or more Credible Witnesses or by her Last Will and Testament in Writing Duly Executed in the presence of three or more Credible Witnesses Direct Limit Devise or Appoint The said Homage Also Present that the said Mary Fry by her Last Will and Testament bearing date the Twenty Sixth day of May One Thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty two duly Executed in the presence of three Witnesses and Proved in the Prerogative Court of the Archbishop of Canterbury the Sixth day of February One Thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty four in pursuance of the said power Did Direct Devise and Appoint the said premises with the Appurtenances unto Thomas Washburn and Mary Higgs their Heirs and Assigns as Tenants in Comon Subject to the payment of the Annuity and Legacies therein Bequeathed Whereupon at this Court came the said Thomas Washburn Devisee Named in the Last Will and Testament of Mary Fry Deceased and prayed of the Lord of the said Manor to be Admitted to One Moiety or Half part of all those the said three Closes of Land with the Appurtenances Which came into the hands of the Lord upon the Death of the said Mary Fry aforesaid To whom the Lord of the said Manor by his s.d Steward Granted the same To Hold to the said Thomas Washburn his Heirs & assigns forever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the yearly Rent of four pence for the said Moiety Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs & Services therefore due and of right accustomed Subject as aforesaid And the said Thomas Washburn paid to the Lord as a Fine for Such his Admission as Appears in the Margin [£3.15s]   He is Admitted Tenant thereof hath seizin by the Rod and did his Fealty.
And afterwards at this Court came again the said Thomas Washburn in his Proper Person and Surrendered into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the Acceptance of the said Steward the said Moiety of the said three Closes of Land with the Appurtenances To the Use and behoof of Such Person and Persons And for Such Estate and Estates And Under such Directions Limitations and Appointments As the said Thomas Washburn shall in and by his Last Will and Testament in Writeing duly Executed Limit Direct and Appoint the same

And whereupon afterwards at this Court came the said Mary Higgs Devisee Named in the Last Will and Testament of Mary Fry Deceased and prayed of the Lord of the said Manor to be Admitted To One Moiety or half part of all those the said Three Closes of Land with the Appurtenances Which came into the hands of the Lord upon the Death of the said Mary Fry aforesaid To whom the Lord of the said Manor by his said Steward Granted the same To Hold to the said Mary Higgs her Heirs & Assigns forever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the yearly Rent of Four Pence for her said Moiety Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs & Services therefore due and of right accustomed According to the said Devise in the Will of the said Mary Fry and Subject to the payment of the Legacies therein mentioned And the said Mary Higgs paid to the Lord as a Fine for Such her Admission to the said Moiety of the said Premises as Appears in the Margin [£3.15s]   She is Admitted Tenant thereof hath seizin by the Rod.

And afterwards at this Court came again the said Mary Higgs in her Proper Person and Surrendered into the Lords hands by the Acceptance of the said Steward the said Moiety of the said three Closes of Land with the Appurtenances To the Use and behoof of Such Person and Persons And for Such Estate and Estates And Under such Directions Limitations and Appointments As the said Mary Higgs shall in and by her Last Will and Testament in Writeing Duly Executed Limit Direct and Appoint

The Homage Amerce the Several Tenants of this Manor who are Suit and Service at this Court and have made Default in Attending here this day to action Suit and Service at this Court Four Pence Each.
