The Homage present a certain Surrender taken out of Court and since the last Court to wit The Twenty Seventh day of August last whereby Henry Pritchard a Copyholder or Customary Tenant of the said Manor Surrendered into the Lord’s Hands by the acceptance of the said Steward All that Parcel of Customary Arrable Land called Lomepitts lying in three severall containing in the whole by Estimation nine Acres more or less lying in Bisley within the said Manor To the use and behoofe of such person or persons and for such Estate and Estates And upon such Condition and Conditions As he the said Henry Pritchard shall in and by his last Will and Testament in writeing Limit direct or Appoint the same

The Homage also present that Edward Lawford who held of the Lord of the said Manor by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor  All those three peices of Land being Coppice Ground containing by Estimation one Acre and a half And also one Acre and a half called Brook Ground more or less and one Acre of Land called Rough Ground containing by Estimation Three Acres with the Appurtenances in Bisley for and during the Term of his natural Life  With remainder to Ann his Wife with Remainder to the Heirs and Assigns of the said Edward Lawford for ever died since the last Court  Upon whose Death there happened to the Lord of the said Manor for a Heriot nothing because he had no Live Beast And that the said Edward Lawford in and by his last Will and Testament in writeing bearing Date the Twenty Sixth day of February one thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty Three Gave and Devised the same to his Daughter Sarah Lawford her heirs and Assigns (having first Surrendered the same to the uses of his Will)

 

At this Court came into Court in her proper person Mary Featherstone a Copyholder or Customary Tenant of the said Manor And in open Court Surrendered into the Lord’s Hands by the acceptance of the said Steward All that Customary Messuage or Tenement one Garden one Barn and one Stable with the appurtenances on Bisley Green within the Said Manor and three Quarters of an Acre of Land there and Four Acres of Land with the Appurtenances lying in the Common Field called Widecroft heretofore the Messuage and Lands of John Cobbett and Elizabeth his Wife And also one other Acre of Land with the Appurtenances lying in the Common Field aforesaid and one Acre of Land lying in the Common Field call Burcroft and one Acre of Meadow lying in the Common Mead called Westburn Mead with their and every of their Appurtenances sometime Roger Cobbett's and late the Estate of William Hewit held of the said Manor and in the Tenure or Occupation of Absolom Knight And all that Cottage with a Garden yard and Appurtenances situate lying and being in Bisley aforesaid in the occupation of Mary Pritchett  To the use and behoofe of Elizabeth the Wife of James Gosden in the Psh of Chobham in the County of Surrey Farmer for and dureing the Term of her Natural Life and from and after her decease To the use and Behoofe of James Gosden the younger Son of the said James Gosden the Elder his Heirs and Assigns and to and for no other use intent or purpose whatsoever  Whereupon at this Court came into Court in their proper persons the said Elizabeth the Wife of the said James Gosden the Elder and the said James Gosden the younger and prayed to be Admitted to the said Customary Messuage or Tenement and all and singular the Lands and Premises with the Appurtenances now in the Occupation of the said Absolom Knight To whom the Lord of the said Manor by his said Steward Granted the same To Hold to the said Elizabeth the Wife of the said James Gosden the Elder for and dureing the Term of her natural Life and from and after her decease To the use and Behoofe of the said James Gosden the younger his Heirs & assigns by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the yearly Rent of One Shilling and four pence Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs & Services therefore formerly due & of right accustomed and the said Elizabeth Gosden gave to the Lord as a Fine for the admission of the said Elizabeth and the said James Gosden the younger to the said premises as hereinafter mentioned  They are admitted Tenants thereof have seizin by the Rod and the said James Gosden the younger did Fealty to the Lord But the Fealty of the said Elizabeth is respited.

At this Court came also into Court John Eyred a Copyholder or Customary tenant of the said Manor who was formerly Admitted as a Trustee to Abel Walter Esquire late Lord of the said Manor under a Forfeiture in open Court Surrendered into the Hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the acceptance of the said Steward All that the Scite of A Messuage and a parcel of Arrable Land containing by Estimation One Acre and a half  be the same more or less late the Estate of Peter Quinnell deceased And before then the Estate of George Martin deceased lying and being in the said parish of Bisley within the said Manor  To the use and behoofe of Sarah Moore Widow her Heirs and Assigns to which Sarah Moore the same premises came and Descended as a Heir at Law of the late Peter Quinnell And to and for no other use intent or purpose whatsoever Whereupon at this Court came into Court in her proper person the said Sarah Moore and prayed of the Lord of the said Manor to be Admitted to the said Premises so Surrendered to her as aforesaid To whom the Lord of the said Manor by his said Steward Granted the same To Hold to the said Sarah Moore her Heirs & assigns by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the yearly Rent of Six Pence Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs & Services therefore formerly due & of right accustomed and the said Sarah Moore gave to the Lord as a Fine for such her Admission to the said premises as Appears in the Margin []  She is admitted Tenant thereof hath seizin by the Rodd And her Fealty is respited.
