James Harding to the use of his Will
The Homage present a certain surrender taken out of Court and since the last Court to wit the eleventh day of January last whereby James Harding of Pyrbright a Customary Tenant of the said Manor did out of Court by the hands and acceptance of John Cobbett and Arthur Harding two other Cus tomary Tenants thereof Surrender into the Lords Hands All that his Copyhold Messuage or Tenement and also his Copyhold lands lying in Bisley with their apputenances To such Uses Intents and purposes as he should by his last Will and Testament under his hand and Seal before three or more Credible Witnesses Limit or appoint
The Homage also present that the said James Harding in and by his last Will and Testament in writing bearing date the Eleventh day of January last past duly executed in the presence of three Witnesses and now produced here in Court Devised the said Copyhold Messuage and Lands unto his wife Mary her heires and Assigns for ever And that the said James Harding died since the last Court to wit the twenty third day of January last past and held at his Death by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the yearly rent of one shilling Heriot when it shall happen suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore due and of right accustomed One Messuage Tenement or Cottage and one acre of land with the appurtenances to the same Cottage adjoining lying in Bisley within the said Manor And also the Scite of a Cottage or Tenement called Vanits and one acre of Land to the same belonging with the appurtenances And also one acre of Land late part of the Waste adjoining to a Close called Hasell Hill within the said Manor by the yearly rent of 1s.6d Heriot when it shall happen suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore due and of right accustomed Upon whose Death then happened to the Lord of the said Manor for two Heriots one Gelding and one Weather Sheep which were sold to the said Mary the Widow and Relict of the said James Harding for the sum of £1.7.0 Whereupon at this Court came the said Mary Harding and humbly prayed of the Lord of the said Manor to be admitted to the said Messuage Tenement or Cottage and one acre of Land with the appurtenances to the same Cottage adjoining lying in Bisley within the said Manor To whom the Lord of the said Manor by his said Steward granted the same To hold to the said Mary Harding her heirs and assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by the said yearly rent of 1s Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore due and of right accustomed And the said Mary Harding paid to the Lord as a Fine for such her admission to the said premises as hereinafter mentioned She is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rodd But her Fealty is respited
And at this Court came the said Mary Harding also
