At this Court the Homage present That John Howard one of the Customary Tennants of this Mannor did on the fifteenth Day of this Instant October Surrender into the Hands of the Lord by the acceptance of his sd Steward All that Messuage Barn Garden Orchard & one Acre & an half of arable Land & Meadow land with the Appurts in Bisley af.d now in the Occupation of John Cheeseman To the use and Behoofe of George Edwards & Mary his Wife and to the Heirs & Assigns of the Survivor of them and the said George Edwards & Mary his Wife being present in Court prayed to be admitted the premes To whom the Lord by his Steward af.d hath granted the premes af.d To Have and to Hold to the said George Edwards & Mary his Wife and to the Heirs & Assigns of the Survivor of them By Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of this Mannor by the Rents Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of right accustomed and they gave to the Lord as a Fine for such their Estates as appears in the Margin [£4 5s] and so they were admitted Tennants had Seizin by the Rod and the said George Edwards did Fealty to the Lord.
At this Court came George Edwards & Mary his Wife and in full and open Court did Surrender into the Hands of the Lord of this Mannor by the acceptance of the said Steward All that Messuage Barn Garden Orchard & one Acre of and an half of arable Land & Meadow land w.th the Appurts in this Mannor in the Tenure of John Cheeseman to such uses Intents and Purposes as the Survivor of them the said George Edwards & Mary his Wife shall in and by the last Will and Testament of the said Survivor Limit, Direct, devise and appoint the same.
At this Court the Homage present That John Towers one of the Customary Tennants of this Mannor at a Court held for this Mannor on the fourteenth Day of October one thousand seven hundred and forty two Surrendered into the Hands of the Lord by the acceptance of the Steward All that his Copyhold Messuage or Tenement with the Appurts within this Mannor To the use and Behoofe of James Watt of Chilworth in the said County Husbandman his Heirs & Assigns for ever Conditional to be void on the said John Towers paying or causing to be paid unto the said James Watts his Executors Admors or Assigns the full & just sum of Twenty Five pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain on the Fourteenth day of this Instant October with Int. after the rate of Four pounds by the Hundred by the year without any abatements for taxes or other payments whatsoever And whereas the said sum of Twenty Five pounds & Interest remains due and unpaid to the said James Watts Now the said James Watts being present in Court prayed to be admitted to the premes To whom the Lord by his Steward aforesaid hath granted the premes aforesaid To Have and to Hold to the said James Watts his Heirs & Assigns for ever (Subject to the Condition in the said Surrender mentioned) By Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of this Mannor by the Rents Customs & Services therefore formerly due and of right accustomed and he gave to the Lord as a Fine for such his Estate as appears in the Margin [£2 5s] and so he was admitted Tennant had Seizin by the Rod and did Fealty to the Lord.
At this Court came James Freeland and prayed to be admitted to All that one Copyhold Messuage or Tenement and three Closes of Land containing by Estimation two Acres more or less with the Appurts in Bisley which came into the hands of the Lord of this Mannor by the Death of George Freeland his Grandfather To whom the Lord by his Steward af.d hath granted the premes af.d To Have and to Hold to the said James Freeland his Heirs & Assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of this Mannor by the Rents Customs & Services therefore formerly due and of right accustomed and he gave to the Lord as a Fine for such his Estate as appears in the Margin [£4 4s] and so he was admitted Tennant had Seizin by the Rod and did Fealty to the Lord.
At this Court is presented by the Homage that John Cobbet Surrendered his Copyhold Estates in the words following “Mannor of Bisley in Surry Be it Remembered that on the first day of October in the Eighteenth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second King of Great Britain France and Ireland defender of the Faith and so forth and in the Year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred and Forty and two John Cobbet of the Parish of Pirbright in the County of Surry Yeoman one of the Customary Tennants of the Mannor of Bisley aforesaid did out of Court Surrender by the Rod according to the Custom of the said Mannor by the Hands and acceptance of George Martin and Moses Evered two other Customary Tennants of the said Mannor All that his Customary Copyhold Messuage or Tenement with the Barn Buildings Gardens Orchard & Backsides together with all and every the Copyhold Lands and Hereditaments whatsoever and wheresoever of all arable Meadow Pasture and feeding Lands with their and every of their Appurts situate lying and being in the said Parish of Bisley within the jurisdiction of the Mannor of Bisley in the said County of Surry and now in the Occupation of William Cobbet or his Assigns To the Use and Behoofe of Edward Jemmet of the Strand London Distiller his Heirs & Assigns for ever according to the Custom of the said Mannor Provided always and upon this Condition notwithstanding that if the said John Cobbet his Heirs Exors Admors or Assigns or any or either of them do and shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the above named Edward Jemmet his Exors Admors or Assigns the full sum of two Hundred and Fifty pounds of Lawful money of Great Britain with Interest for the same after the rate of Five pounds by the Hundred by the Year on the first day of October which shall be in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Forty and three without any Abatement That then this present Surrender to be void and of none Effect or else to be and remain in full Force and Virtue John Cobbet This Surrender taken the day & Year above written within the Mannor of Bisley by us George Martin Moses Evered”

At this Court the Homage present that John Bicknoll out of Court & since the last Court Surrendered his Copyhold Estates in this Mannor in the words following “Bisley Mannor in Surry Be it Remembered that on the thirtieth day of September in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Forty two John Bicknoll of Walton upon Thames in the said County of Surry Yeoman one of the Customary Tennants of the Mannor of Bisley aforesaid Out of Court and by these presents and according to the Custom of the Mannor He the said John Bicknoll doth Surrender by the Rod into the Hands of the Lord of the said Mannor by the Hands and Acceptance of Richard Hod and Henry Whittall the Younger Elder All that his Customary Copyhold Messuage or Tenem.t with the Barn Buildings Outhouses Edifices & Gardens Orchard and Backsides thereunto belonging together with Five Closes pieces or parcells of Arable or Pasture Lands thereunto adjoyning and belonging containing together by Estimation Seven Acres more or less with the Appurts abutting on the Lands of John Kidder on the South the Lands of James Marter on the North and the Common there on the West and East parts situate lying and being in Bisley aforesaid and now in the Occupation of John Whittall or his Assigns To the use and behoofe of William Longhurst of Chobham in the said County Collarmaker his Heirs & Assigns for ever according to the Custom of the said Mannor Provided always and upon this Condition nevertheless that if the said John Bicknoll his Heirs Exors Admors or Assigns or any or either of them do and shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the above named Willm Longhurst his Exors Admors or Assigns the full sum of Sixty pounds of Lawful money of Great Britain with Interest for the same at the rate of four pounds by the Hundred in the Year on the thirtieth day of September which shall be in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Forty three without any Abatement for Taxes or on any other Account whatsoever That then this present Surrender to be void and of none Effect or else to be and remain in full Force Power and Virtue John Bicknoll This Surrender taken the day & Year above written within the said Mannor by us H the mark of Richard Hod JH the mark of James Harding”
