At this Court came Richard Hewitt Brother & Heir of Stephen Hewitt dece.d a Customary Tennant of this Mannor and prayed to be admitted To all that Customary Messuage or Tenement one Garden one Barn and one Stable with the Appurts lying and being on Bisley Green within the said Mannor and three quarters of an Acre of Land there and four Acres of Land with the Appurts lying in the Common Field called Widecroft heretofore the Messe and Land of John Cobbett and Eliz.th his Wife And also one other piece of Land with the Appurts lying in the Common Field af.d and one Acre of Land with the Appurts lying in the Common Field called Burcroft And one Acre of Meadow lying in the Common Mead called Westburn Mead sometime since Roger Cobbetts and late Land of William Smith and Elizabeth his Wife.
And the said Richard Hewitt prayed to be admitted to one Cottage w.th a Garden Yard and Appurts w.ch together w.th the af.d premes came into the Hands of the Lord by the Death of the said Stephen Hewitt To Have and to Hold whom the Lord by his Steward aforesaid Hath granted the premes af.d To Have and to Hold to the said Richard Hewitt his Heirs & Assigns for ever By Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of this Mannor by the Sev.ll Rents Customs & Services therefore formerly due and of right accustomed and he gave to the Lord as a Fine for such his Estate as appears in the Margin [Fines for Both £17] and so he was admitted Tennant had Seizin by the Rod and did Fealty to the Lord.
At this Court came Richard Hewitt one of the Copyhold Tennants of this Mannor and in full and open Court Surrendered into the Hands of the Lord of this Mannor by the acceptance of the Steward All that Customary Messuage or Tenement and Garden and Barn & one Stable with the Appurts in Bisley Green within this Mannor and three Quarter of an Acre of Land there and four Acres of Land with the Appurts lying in the Common Field called Widecroft heretofore the Messuage and Land of John Cobbett & Eliz.th his Wife And also one other piece of Land with the Appurts lying in the Common Field aforesaid and one Acre of Land with the Appurts lying in the Common Field called Burcroft And one Acre of Meadow lying in the Common Mead called Westburn Mead sometime since Roger Cobbetts and late Land of William Smith and Elizabeth his Wife To the use and Behoofe of Mary Featherstone of Farnham in the said County of Surry Spinster her Heirs & Assigns for ever And the said Richard Hewitt did also Surrender into the Hands of the Lord by the acceptance of the Steward All that Cottage with a Garden Yard and Appurts To the use and Behoofe of the said Mary Featherstone of Farnham in the said County of Surry Spinster her Heirs & Assigns for ever And the said Mary Featherstone being present in Court prayed to be admitted to the Sev.ll Premes af.d To whom the Lord by his Steward aforesaid Hath granted the Severall premes af.d To Have and to Hold to the said Mary featherstone her Heirs & Assigns for ever By Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of this Mannor by the Sev.ll Rents Customs & Services therefore formerly due and of right accustomed and she gave to the Lord for Fines for such his Estates as appears in the Margin [Fines for Both Estates £8] and so she was admitted Tennant had Seizin by the Rod and did Fealty to the Lord.
At this Court came Mary Featherstone one of the Copyhold Tennants of this Mannor and in full and open Court did Surrender into the Hands of the Lord of this Mannor by the acceptance of the Steward All that one Customary Messuage or Tenement one Garden & one Barn & one Stable with the Appurts lying and being in Bisley Green within this Mannor and three Quarter of an Acre of Land there and four Acres of Land with the Appurts lying in the Common Field called Widecroft in Bisley heretofore the Messuage and Land of John Cobbett & Eliz.th his Wife and also one other acre of Land w.th the App.s lying in the Common Field aforesaid and one Acre of Land with the Appurts lying in the Common Field called Burcroft And one Acre of Meadow lying in the Common Mead called Westburn Mead sometime since Roger Cobbetts and late Land of William Smith and Elizabeth his Wife in Bisley af.d And also all that Cottage with a Garden Yard and Appurts w.ch said premes were all the Estates of George Ansley and Dinah his Wife To the use and Behoofe of such person and persons and to such uses Trusts Intents and Purposes as she the said Mary Featherstone shall in and by her last Will and Testament executed in the presence of three or more credible witnesses direct Limit or Appoint the same.
At this Court came the Right Honble Heneage Earl of Aylesford by George Rempnant of Bisley Yeoman his attorney lawfully constituted and appointed and in full and open Court Surrendered into the Hands of the Lord of this Mannor by the acceptance of the Steward All that one Tenement with a Barn Edifices Gardens and Appurts to the same belonging and two parcells of Land called Brook Ground lying together containing by Estim three Acres formerly the Lands of William Claverly in Bisley aforesaid and Held by the yearly Rent of two shillings To the use of William Draper of Froyle in the said County of Southampton his Heirs & Assigns for ever
And also at this Court came the said Right Honble Heneage Heneage Earl of Aylesford and by the said George Rempnant his said attorney did Surrender into the Hands of the sd Lord by the acceptance of the sd Steward All that one Meadow called Little Mead by Estim one Acre and an half w.th the Appurts formerly the Land of the said William Claverly held by the yearly Rent of iiiid To the use of the said William Draper paying to the his Heirs & Assigns for ever
And also at this Court came the said Heneage Earl of Aylesford & by the said George Rempnant his said attorney did Surrender into the Hands of the Lord by the acceptance of the said Steward All those two Closes of Land by Estim two Acres & an half w.th the Appurts formerly the Lands of the said William Claverly held by the yearly Rent of one shilling To the use of the said William Draper his Heirs & Assigns for ever
And also at this Court came the said Heneage Earl of Aylesford & by the said George Rempnant his said attorney did Surrender into the Hands of the sd Lord by the acceptance of the Steward All that one Meadow lying in Churchburn Mead and one Acre lying in the Common Field called Widecroft formerly the Lands of William Claverly and held by the yearly Rent of one shilling To the use of the said William Draper his Heirs & Assigns for ever
And also at this Court came the said Heneage Earl of Aylesford and by the said George Rempnant his said attorney did Surrender into the Hands of the Lord by the acceptance of the Steward All that one Messuage called Wellers with all the Barn Stables Edifices Gardens Orchards & Curtilages to the said Messuage belonging and three Closes to the same belonging containing by Est.n Seven Acres & One Meadow called Newbridge Mead by Est three two Acres And three Acres of Land by Estim lying in the Common Field called Widecroft & one Acre of Land by Estimation lying in the Common Field called South Nest and three Acres of Land lying in the Common Field called North hills and half an Acre of Meadow lying in a Common mead called Westburn Mead and four Acres of Land by Est lying in the Common Field called Neltro with the Appurts formerly the Land of Joseph Hone & held by the yearly Rent of five shilling & one penny halfpenny To the use of the said William Draper his Heirs & Assigns for ever
And also at this Court came the said Heneage Earl of Aylesford and by the said George Rempnant his said attorney did Surrender into the Hands of the Lord of this Mannor by the acceptance of the said Steward All those four Acres of Land lying in Widecroft with the Appurts held by the yearly Rent of Fourpence To the use of the said William Draper his Heirs & Assigns for ever
At this Court came the said Heneage Earl of Aylesford and by the said George Rempnant his Attorney did Surrender into the Hands of the Lord by the acceptance of the sd Steward All that Coppice or Parcell of Wood ground abutting on Lome Pitts Lane called Paynes by Estim Six Acres late Cobbetts of the Pound held by the yearly Rent of one Shilling & Six Pence To the use of the sd William Draper his Heirs & Assigns for ever
And also at this Court came the said Heneage Earl of Aylesford & by the said George Rempnant his sd Attorney did Surrender into the Hands of the Lord by the acceptance of the said Steward All that Close of Land called North Hills containing by Estim four Acres and an half formerly parcell of the Land of Henry Cobbet and afterwards of Joseph Hone held by the yearly Rent of Tenpence & other Services To the use of the sd William Draper his Heirs & Assigns for ever And the said William Draper being present in Court prayed to be admitted to the said Severall Estates aforesaid To whom the Lord by his Steward aforesaid Hath granted the Severall premes aforesaid To Have and to Hold to the said William Draper his Heirs & Assigns for ever By Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of this Mannor by the Severall Rents Herriotts Customs & Services therefore formerly due and of right accustomed and he gave to the Lord as Fines for such his Estates as appear in the Margin [Fines for the Eight Estates in Woking £54] And so he was admitted Tennt. had Seizin by the Rod and did Fealty to the Lord.
At this Court the Homage present that John Robinson one of the Customary Tennants of this Mannor out of Court and since the last Court to wit on the Twelfth day of February one thousand seven hundred and Forty one did Surrender into the Hands of the Lord by the acceptance of the Henry Whittall and Richard Hodd two other Customary Tennants of this Mannor All his Customary Messuage or Tenement Lands Hereditaments & every part and parcell thereof w.th the Appurts to such intent or intents use & uses Estate & Estates person & persons as is in and by his last Will & Testament in writing made or to be made attested by two or more credible Witnesses nominated directed & appointed.
At this Court the Homage present that Robert Kidder one of the Customary Tennants of this Mannor out of Court and since the last Court to wit on the Twentyeth day of November 1741 Surrendered into the Hands of the Lord by the acceptance of George Rempnant and John Tedder two other Customary Tennants of this Mannor All that his Copyhold Messuage or Tenement Barn Garden & Orchard with the Appurts situate lying and being in the parish of Bisley in the Occupation of Richard Collyer & Henry Freeland or their assigns To the use and Behoofe of John Flooder of Stoke next Guildford in the said County of Surry Sawyer his Heirs & Assigns for ever Provided always that if the said Rob.t Kidder his Heirs Exors admors or assigns did & should well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said John Flooder his Exors admors or assigns the full sum of fourteen pounds sixteen shillings & ten pence of Lawfull money of Great Britain with Lawfull Int for the same on the one & twentieth day of June then next without any Deductions or abate.t for Taxes or other paym.ts then the said Surrender was to be void or else to be and remain in full Force.
