Conditional Surrender John Loveland to The Rev.d Thomas Hockley
Be it remembered that on the fifth day of November in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and forty six John Loveland of Bisley in the said County of Surrey Farmer one of the Copyhold or Customary Tenants of the said Manor personally came before Edmund Vincent Deputy Steward of the Courts of the said Manor out of Court and in consideration of the sum of one hundred pounds of lawful money of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland of English Value and Currency to him the said John Loveland in hand well and truly paid by The Reverend Thomas Hockley of Shiplake in the County of Oxford Clerk Hath Surrendered and Doth surrender into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the rod and by the acceptance of the said Deputy Steward and according to the custom of the said Manor All that little meadow Platt called Turks Platt containing an acre of land more or less and also one acre of land in Neltro in two parcels and one acre of land in Widecroft one acre of land in South Earsh and one acre of Wood with the appurtenances held by the yearly rent of two pence heriot suit of court and other services And also all that meadow containing by estimation four acres adjoining the lane leading to Church Mead on the east part and lands now or late of John Phillips on the west part held by the yearly rent of six pence heriot suit of court and other services to which last mentioned premises the said John Loveland was admitted tenant at a Court Baron held for the said Manor on the twenty seventh day of October one thousand eight hundred and twenty six and the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders rents issues and profits thereof And also all the estate right title interest property possession claim and demand whatsoever of him the said John Loveland of into or out of the same premises and every part and parcel thereof To the only proper use and behoof of the said Thomas Hockley his heirs and assigns for ever according to the custom of the said Manor Provided always and upon this condition nevertheless that if the said John Loveland his heirs executors administrators or assigns do and shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said Thomas Hockley his executors administrators or assigns the full and just sum of one hundred pounds together with interest for the same after the rate of five pounds for one hundred pounds for a year of lawful money of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland of English value and currency upon the fifth day of May next ensuing the date hereof without any deduction or abatement to be made or taken out of the same on any account whatsoever and without fraud or further delay Then this Surrender to be void and of no effect otherwise to be and remain in full force and virtue ~ John Loveland This Surrender was taken the day and year first above written by the acceptance of me Edmund Vincent Deputy Steward - In the presence of Edw.d Cha.s Quilley Received the day and year first above written of and from the above named Thomas Hockley the sum of One hundred pounds being the consideration money above mentioned to be paid by him to me. £100 John Loveland ~ Witness Edw.d Cha.s Quilley
