Conditional Surrender Nathan Searle to Henry Colebrook
Be it Remembered that on the twenty eighth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty three Nathan Searle of Chobham in the County of Surrey Cordwainer one of the Copyhold or Customary Tenants of the said Manor personally came before Joseph Hockley Gentleman Steward of the Courts of the said Manor out of Court and in consideration of the Sum of three hundred pounds of lawful money of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland of English Value and currency to him the said Nathan Searle in hand paid by Henry Colebrook of the City of Bath Gentleman at or immediately before the making this Surrender Hath surrendered and Doth surrender into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the Rod and by the acceptance of the said Steward and according to the custom of the said Manor all those three pieces or parcels of Copyhold Land lying in the parish and Manor of Bisley in the County of Surrey as follows that is to say a Meadow containing by estimation three Acres or thereabouts the Lower field containing by estimation two acres and three quarters or thereabouts and a piece or Parcel of Land part of the Upper field as now marked and stamped out containing by estimation one Acre and three quarters or thereabouts and which said pieces or parcels of Land are parts and parcels of certain premises heretofore described on the Court Rolls of the said Manor as all those three pieces of Land  being Coppice Ground containing by estimation one Acre and an half called Brook Ground more or less and one close of Land called Rough Ground containing by estimation three Acres with the Appurtenances in Bisley held by the yearly rent of two shillings Heriot suit of Court and other Services And the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders rents issues and profits thereof And all the estate right title interest use trust property possession claim and demand whatsoever of him the said Nathan Searle of in to or out of the same premises and every or any part thereof  To the use and behoof of the said Henry Colebrook his heirs and assigns for ever according to the custom of the said Manor Subject nevertheless to the proviso or condition hereinafter contained (that is to say) Provided always and upon condition nevertheless that if the said Nathan Searle his heirs executors administrators or assigns or any or either of them do and shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said Henry Colebrook his executors administrators or assigns the full and just sum of three hundred pounds of lawful money of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland of English value and currency (being the same principal money as is secured or intended to be secured by a certain Mortgage or conditional Surrender of certain Copyhold premises lying in the manor of Chobham in the County of Surrey made by the said Nathan Searle to the said Henry Colebrook on the day of the date hereof) With interest for the same after the rate of five pounds for every one hundred pounds for a year upon the twenty eighth day of May now next ensuing without fraud or delay and without any deduction or abatement out of the same for or on any account of any manner of taxes payments or impositions or any other matter cause or thing whatsoever  Then this Surrender to be void and of no effect or otherwise to be and remain in full force and virtue  Nathan Searle ~ This Surrender was taken the day and year first above written By the acceptance of me Joseph Hockley Steward ~  Received on the day of the date of the above written surrender of and from the above named Henry Colebrook the sum of three hundred pounds being the consideration money above mentioned to be paid by him to me £300  Nathan Searle  ~  Witness Edmund Vincent
[Margin note:  Be it remembered that on the thirteenth day of March One thousand eight hundred and forty eight Henry Colebrook in this Surrender named did acknowledge that he had that day had and received of and from Nathan Searle in this Surrender also named All Principal and Interest Monies due and owing upon and by virtue of this Surrender  And the said Henry Colebrook did by Writing under his hand of that date authorise and empower the Steward of this Manor to enter his acknowledgement of having received such satisfaction upon the Court Rolls or Books of the said Manor accordingly  Witness my Hand Joseph Hockley Steward]
