A Special Court Baron of the Right Honourable George Lord Onslow and Cranley Lord of the said Manor held for the said Manor on Friday the nineteenth Day of November in the Twenty fifth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the faith &c And in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty four Before Thomas Sibthorpe Deputy of John Chandler Gentleman Chief Steward there

The Homage present that William Thick One of the Copyhold or Customary Tenants of this  Manor whose Death was Presented at a General Court Baron holden for this Manor on the Eighth Day of May One thousand seven hundred and Eighty three in and by his last Will and Testament bearing date on or about the fifth day of April One thousand seven hundred and Eighty three Gave and devised as follows “I Give and devise All that my Customary Messuage or Tenement together with the Barn and all other Outbuildings Orchards Gardens Yards Backsides and Appurts thereto belonging formerly in the Tenure or Occupation of William Johnson or his Assigns And also all those five Closes of Copyhold Arable Meadow or Pasture Land containing by Estimation Seven Acres more or less in Bisley and which I Hold of the said Manor of Bisley unto my Wife Sally Thick for and during the Term of her natural Life And from and after her Decease I give and devise the same unto my Daughter Sarah Thick and her Heirs  To Hold to my said Daughter Sarah Thick her Heirs and Assigns forever according to the Custom of the said Manor  But my Will and meaning is And I do hereby give Power and Authority unto my said Wife by Surrender of the said Premises or otherwise to raise by Mortgage of the said last mentioned Premises so devised to her for her Life as aforesaid the Sum of One hundred Pounds of lawful money of Great Britain for the Purpose of Paying my Debts and funeral Expenses and then to Place out the Sum of Ten Pounds part of the said One hundred Pounds at Interest until my said Son William shall be of a proper age to be put out an Apprentice And then the said Sum of Ten Pounds to be applied for that Purpose But my Wife is to receive and retain the Interest of the said Sum of Ten Pounds for her own Benefit“  Whereupon at this Court upon the third Proclamation Came into Court in her Proper Person the said Sally Thick the Widow of the said William Thick and humbly Prayed to be admitted to All that Customary Messuage or Tenement together with the Barn and all other Outbuildings Orchards Gardens Yards Backsides and Appurtenances thereto belonging formerly in the Tenure or Occupation of William Johnson or his Assigns in pursuance of the said Will of the said William Thick her said late Husband To Whom the Lord of this Manor by the said Deputy Steward Granted the same To Hold to her the said Sally Thick and her Assigns for and during the Term of her natural Life by Copy of Court Roll at the will of the Lord according to the custom of the said Manor by the Yearly Rent of _________ Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of right accustomed  And She gave to the Lord as a Fine for such her admittance as Appears afterwards She is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod and her Fealty is respited.
Also at this Court upon the third Proclamation came again into Court in her Proper Person the said Sally Thick and humbly Prayed to be admitted to All those five Closes of Copyhold Arable Meadow or Pasture Land containing by Estimation Seven Acres more or less in Bisley in Pursuance of the said Will of the said William Thick her said late Husband To Whom the Lord of this Manor by the said Deputy Steward Granted the same To Hold to her the said Sally Thick and her Assigns for and during the Term of her natural Life by Copy of Court Roll at the will of the Lord according to the custom of the said Manor by the Yearly Rent of _________ Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of right accustomed  And She gave to the Lord as a Fine for this and her former admittance as Appears in the Margin [Fine for both £15]  She is Admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod and her Fealty is respited.

And immediately after such the Admittances of the said Sally Thick She the said Sally Thick being Present in Court in her Proper Person Surrendered by the Rod into the hands of the Lord of this Manor by the Acceptance of the said Deputy Steward according to the Custom of the said Manor All that Customary Messuage or Tenement together with the Barn and all other Outbuildings Orchards Gardens Yards Backsides and Appurts thereto belonging formerly in the Tenure or Occupation of William Johnson or his Assigns And also all those five Closes of Copyhold Arable Meadow or Pasture Land containing by Estimation Seven Acres more or less in Bisley And to which the said Sally Thick had been just before Admitted To the only Use and Behoof of Henry Knowles of Horsell in the said County Yeoman his Heirs and Assigns for ever Provided always and upon this Condition nevertheless That if the said Sally Thick her Heirs Executors Administrators or Assigns  or such Person or Persons as by Virtue of the Will of the said William Thick shall be intitled to the said Premises should well and truly Pay or cause to be paid unto the said Henry Knowles his Executors or Administrators the full Sum of One hundred Pounds together with Interest for the Same after the rate of Five Pounds for One Hundred Pounds for a Year of good and lawful money of Great Britain upon the nineteenth day of May next Ensuing the date hereof without any Deduction to be made or taken out of the same on any Account whatsoever Then the said Surrender should be Void or else remain in full force and Virtue.

[Margin Note: Be it remembered that on the fifth Day of January One thousand eight hundred and twenty eight Knowles the Son and residuary Legatee and Sole Executor named and appointed in and by the last Will and Testament of Henry Knowles in this Surrender named did acknowledge that he hath received All Principal and Interest Monies secured by this Surrender And by Writing a Warrant under his Hand did authorise and impower the Steward of this Manor to enter satisfaction upon the Court Rolls or Books of the Manor accordingly  Witness my Hand. The Homage also Present that the said William Thick Died also Seized of All that Messuage Tenement or Cottage and One Acre of Land with the Appurtenances to the Same adjoining lying in Bisley aforesaid And that William Thick was his only Son and Heir And that the said William Thick the Son died an Infant without Issue And that Sarah Thick an Infant is his only Sister and next Heir Whereupon at this Court upon the third Proclamation Came into Court in her Proper Person the said Sarah Thick the Infant and humbly Prayed to be admitted to the said last mentioned Premises To Whom the Lord of this Manor by the said Deputy Steward Granted the same To Hold to her the said Sarah Thick the Infant her Heirs and Assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the will of the Lord according to the custom of the said Manor by the Yearly Rent of _________ Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of right accustomed And She gave to the Lord as a Fine for such her admittance as Appears afterwards  She is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod and her Fealty is respited.

The Homage also Present that the said William Thick Died also Seized of a Scite of a  Cottage or Tenement called Vanits and One Acre of Land to the same belonging with the Appurtenances And also One Acre of Land late part of the Waste adjoining to a Close called Hassell Hill within this Manor And that in and by his last Will and Testament bearing date the fifth day of April one thousand Seven hundred and Eighty three He devised the same to his Son William Thick an Infant and his Heirs And thereupon the said Premises descended to his Sister the said Sarah Thick then Infant as his next Heir Whereupon at this Court upon the third Proclamation Came into Court in her Proper Person the said Sarah Thick the Infant and humbly Prayed to be Admitted to the said last mentioned Premes To Whom the Lord of this Manor by the said Deputy Steward Granted the same To Hold to her the said Sarah Thick the Infant her Heirs and Assigns for ever by Copy of Court Roll at the will of the Lord according to the custom of the said Manor by the Yearly Rent of _________ Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other Customs and Services therefore formerly due and of right accustomed And She gave to the Lord as a Fine for this and her former admittance as Appears in the Margin [Fine for both £6]  She is admitted Tenant thereof hath Seizin by the Rod and her Fealty is respited.  And because it Appears to this Court that the said Sarah Thick is an Infant under the age of Twenty one Years Viz.t of the age of three years or thereabouts the Custody as well of the Person of the said Sarah Thick as of the said several Estates of her the said Sarah Thick is granted to Henry Knowles of Horsell in the County of Surrey yeoman until the said Sarah Thick shall attain the age of Twenty one years  He the said Henry Knowles keeping and Observing the customs of the said Manor in all things and keeping the said Premises in Repair And Rendering an Account thereof to the said Infant when she shall attain the said age of Twenty one Years And the said Henry Knowles is Admitted Guardian Accordingly.
