At a Special Court Baron of The Right Honorable William Hillier Earl of Onslow Lord of the said Manor held for the said Manor on Wednesday the twenty fifth day of May in the sixty first year of the Reign of Our Sovereign Lady Victoria by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland Queen Defender of the Faith and in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety eight Before John Gorden Walsh Gentleman Deputy of Frederic Ferdinand Smallpeice Gentleman Chief Steward there.

Allegation by William Grimsley
At this Court came here into Court in his proper person William Grimsley of Bicester in the County of Oxford Fishmonger and alleged that default had been made in payment of the principal sum of Eighty Pounds secured by a certain Conditional Surrender made and passed by Robert Scott Lorraine of Yiewsly in the Parish of Hillingdon in the County of Middlesex Coal Merchant to the use of him the said William Grimsley and dated the third day of May One thousand eight hundred and eighty four (which Surrender is enrolled on the Court Rolls of this Manor) at the time therein appointed for payment thereof and that the same sum with an arrear of interest thereon is now due and owing to him the said William Grimsley

And thereupon at this Court came here again into Court the said William Grimsley and humbly prayed to be admitted tenant to All that one acre of land part of a parcel of land called Miles Grove within this said Manor and which said Acre adjoins to Miles Green on the South to the copyhold land called Wheat Leaz on the West to other part of Miles Green on the North and to one acre other part of Miles Grove on the East Together with the Messuage or Tenement formerly divided into two tenements and which were erected and built thereon by William Glazier now deceased and which were formerly in the occupation of Peter McNeil To whom the Lord of the manor aforesaid by his Deputy Steward aforesaid granted the same and delivered seizin thereof by the Rod To hold to the said William Grimsley his heirs and assigns for ever subject nevertheless to such right or equity of redemption as may now be subsisting therein under or by virtue of the said Conditional Surrender by Copy of Court Roll at the Will of the Lord according to the custom of the said Manor by the yearly rent of one halfpenny Heriot when it shall happen Suit of Court and other services and customs therefore formerly due and of right accustomed And so the said William Grimsley was admitted tenant of the said premises accordingly and gave to the Lord as a Fine for such his admittance as appears in the margin [£8 5s] had seizin by the rod and his fealty was respited
